One interesting thing related to links is the idea of a PR leakage. The PR theory is that a single link to another site counts as one editorial vote. Editorial votes are the building blocks of Page Rank . Accordingly, the higher the PR of the site doing the voting the bigger will be the impact come PR upgrade time. This also has a bearing on a particular site’s SERP standing. Supposedly, PR leakage occurs when a certain blog has way too many outgoing links. When this happens that site’s voting power becomes less potent compared with others of the same PR but with way lesser outgoing links. That’s the general idea behind this concept. Now whether you believe this concept is entirely up to you. I have read about this in several authoritative blogs but I have yet to read about a concrete example of this. Although this makes a lot of sense to me, I still wonder how this actually pans out. Will a blog with too many outgoing links be downgraded in the subsequent PR upgrade? ...

Bad, Bad Backlinks Checker

One of the things that can get you penalized by the almighty Google is when you link to some sites that are totally not related to you. I'm not sure if it's possible for one to unknowingly link to a gambling or a pornography site without the blogger's knowledge. But let's just say for argument's sake that the blogger really did not know that his site is linking to a bad site? As a segue, the thing to fear are outward links as these are the links that the blogger/site owner can control. Incoming links are not a cause for worry as it usually is beyond the blogger's control unless the blogger himself owns the other blog.But what if, really, the owner of a blog is toally clueless that he's been linking to a bad site? I'm trying out scratchback's Show Some Love widget on this site. Seems like a real fun way to earn a few bucks. 3 years. That?s the number of years that Wesley Snipes will be sent to prison for not paying his taxes. This is another example that lends credibility to the truism that one cannot escape death and taxes, unless you live in the Philippines. Have You Tried Google Alert?

As the name suggests this service gives you an alert everytime there is a news info or tidbit on something that you are monitoring, be it your favorite sports team, your celebrity crush, and yes?even your keyword. Just today, my usually flat traffic is getting a lot of spikes after I created a forum somewhere about the Kizuna Satellite. I am very interested about this topic as I have a beef with lousy internet service providers. To ensure that I get a first whiff of whatever is written on the net about the Kizuna Satellite, I have placed this exact same phrase as one of my Google Alert s. The process is a no brainer. All you have to do is go to http://www.google.com/alerts and then specify what specific search term you like, and all other info required to get you what you want. You then put in the email address that you want to receive the alert, and voila! No more crazy searching around the infinite corners of the web for whatever it is that rocks your boat.

155MBps - that's the confirmed downstream speed of the Kizuna Satellite to super small earth stations (these are 45 cm diameter antennas that can be used in homes) according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). This speed is the fastest in the world. JAXA conducted their tests from March 28 - April 7, 2008. See full story here.This is awesome news for Asia Pacific countries that are plaqued by lousy Telcos who charge an arm and a leg for their crappy services. With this development, we are one step closer to being liberated from the third world curse of slow internet speed and crappy connections. Let us all hope that this is the start of something great.

I have recently joined Entrecard and already I am on my way to joining the ranks of Entrecard Anonymous. These are 10 of the coolest free 2-column blogger templates I've seen on the internet and they are all housed under blogandweb.com. The only thing is, the website is in Spanish. I'm almost sure that a lot of bloggers were turned off by this limitation. I should know, I was turned off at first.
