DreamHost customers woke up to a nightmare on Tuesday after the Web hosting company made a major billing mistake overnight that has resulted in many getting their credit cards charged automatically for hundreds -- and even thousands -- of dollars.In an official blog posting, the company said that Monday night it ran "a standard billing cycle to clean up stragglers from 2007" but by mistake set the overdue-payment parameter for the end of 2008. With its attractive price--less than $250 for 7 megapixels, 38mm-380mm-equivalent 10x zoom lens, and a full set of manual and semimanual controls--the Fujifilm FinePix S700 (aka the FinePix S5700) seems quite a compelling buy for the budget-strapped megazoom shooter. And on some levels, it delivers the dSLR-like shooting experience that its design promises. Certainly, at 14.1 ounces, its sturdy plastic body has the heft of a low-end dSLR. The camera powers up in less than 2 seconds, and the shutter button responds fairly quickly. It handled close-up shots nicely; I photographed a quarter at a distance of about 2 inches, and the resulting shot looked crisp and clear.In lab tests, the 7.1-megapixel S700 earned a high score for color accuracy and an average score for sharpness. All signs point to the 2.10 firmware update hitting PlayStation 3's tomorrow and it's set to include improvements to the consoles Blu-Ray and media viewing capability.Blu-Ray support will get 1.1 profile support, which sort of keeps the PS3 at the top of the Blu-Ray player stack. Sony will also add DivX and WMV support.DivX support, however, is sadly limited in a few ways. File size is limited to 2GB, which shouldn't prevent too many files from being played.
