Nvidia will make all games 3D in future
2008-05-01 07:51:00
PC gamers can look forward to an exciting summer. If Nvidia continues to work diligently on its new software driver that is lined up, soon, all PC games will be playable in 3D! Needless to say, you'll need to have an nVidia graphics card in your system. This new driver from Nvidia will enable any PC with an Nvidia graphics processor to run a game in normal mode, as well as in 3D, for which gamers will need to wear a pair of (cool) 3D glasses. With the software driver installed, gamers will be able to have a three-dimensional left eye- and right eye- view of the game, when looking through their 3D glasses.Reportedly, game developers need not do anything for PC gamers to avail the 3D gaming facility. It's only the users who will need to own an Nvidia graphics card along with the in-the-making software driver. The challenge for Nvidia is making the glasses widely available at retail, as well as turning the silly-looking lenses into something actually cool and 'not as geeky-looking,' ...

Lego speakers with iPod
2008-04-30 09:26:00
It appears that Perpetual Kid, a site designed to ?entertain your inner child?, has lived up to their slogan with the Lego speakers for the iPod and iPhone. These Lego speakers have a connector that is fully compatible with the iPod Classic, Nano, and Mini. I can only assume that the sound comes out of those big plus signs that you see on the front. What you don?t see are the volume controls that are apparently ?camouflaged? by design. This contraption apparently requires no batteries, so I can only guess that it gets its power from the iPod or iPhone itself. This could result in a short time of use, but the site doesn?t say how long the Lego speaker will play off of a fully charged device.Apparently, this is not a registered product of Lego, which makes me wonder if this brick could fit together with my other Lego bricks. I can think of some spaceship models that could be greatly improved by a little iPod attachment.Maybe some of Lego maniacs out there can try it out, and let me know...

Microsoft Cuts Xbox 360 Prices
2008-04-30 07:57:00
Following the price cuts of the Xbox 360 console in Europe, Microsoft decided it was time to reduce the prices in four Asian markets in order to help their console sell better and fend off market-share declines against Nintendo and Sony. Probably, their price cuts in Europe combined with the release of Grand Theft Auto have payed off, otherwise we're pretty sure the giants wouldn't have done something like that.According to bloomberg website, starting today, estimated retail prices in Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan have been reduced. The interesting thing about the price drop of the Xbox 360 consoles is that each country got a different cut: the price of a basic version will drop by 17 percent to NT$10,360 ($340) in Taiwan, about 11 percent in Hong Kong, 5.1 percent to 369,000 won ($369) in Korea and by 20 percent to S$499 ($366) in Singapore, according to separate e-mailed statements received by the website. You probably already know that Microsoft never managed to e...

Core 2 Quad Q9300 Processor by Intel
2008-04-28 20:13:00
Intel?s Core 2 Quad Q9300 has some rather large shoes to fill. This newly shipping, relatively low-cost (~$270) quad-core processor from Intel is a replacement for their long-standing price to performance champ, the Core 2 Quad Q6600. The Q6600 was the first quad-core in Intel?s arsenal which was actually affordable, and even today, it remains one of the best values on the market. Not only is the Core 2 Quad Q6600 inexpensive for a quad-core at around $230, but it is extremely overclockable and provides a significant amount of computing power for the dollar. Core 2 Quad Q6600?s are still in high-demand ? a trend which is likely to continue until Intel physically removes from them from the market.Like we said, rather large shoes to fill. Luckily, the Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor has some impressive new features under the hood along with a higher clock speed, all at a similar price point as the Q6600. As the Core 2 Quad Q9300 utilizes Intel?s new 45nm manufacturing technology (as oppos...

Motorola W755 Ready for Verizon
2008-04-27 08:50:00
Verizon Wireless, the second largest North American mobile carrier, will soon offer a new Motorola phone, and that is Motorola W755. The handset will be available in two color versions, black and purple, offeringboth men and women the chance to own it.Boy Genius Report is reporting (obviously) that the W755 will most probably be offered for free by Verizon ? with a contract agreement for at least one year, of course. This makes a lot of sense, as the phone's features are the ones of an entry-level device, and entry-level devices are usually doomed to be given to users for 0 (zero) bucks.Moto W755 comes in a clamshell form factor and it doesn't look too different from the previous Motorola clamshells. However, it doesn't have an ugly design, that' for sure. Among the known specs of the phone, we have CDMA/EV-DO dual-band connectivity, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, Music and Video players, stereo Bluetooth, email, USB, 80MB of internal memory and microSD card suppor...

GeForce 7150 Motherboard
2008-04-26 08:41:00
As enthusiasts, we aren't too fond of the idea of running a PC with integrated video. Like many of you, we prefer a discreet video card for the performance benefits, even if it has to be an entry-level solution. Despite that fact, though, most of the monitors in homes and offices across the world are connected to IGPs, and not to dedicated video cards. We love the latest flagship graphics cards as much as the next enthusiast, but we aren't completely impractical. We realize that integrated video is more than sufficient for the majority of users who spend 99% of their time surfing the web, e-mailing, blogging, shopping or playing 2D games like Solitaire.Today, we are going to take a look at a motherboard for the Intel platform from XFX that offers an integrated video solution. The naming of this board skipped the creative department at XFX and went straight to the dry model number assigning team; the end result is the MG-630I-7159.The board is a micro-ATX solution based on the NVID...

More than that, Toshiba was already facing significant operational loses for the fiscal year ending March 31, situated at about 60.2 billion yen.Retail chains such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy tried to keep its customers by offering them either return deals or further discounts for those who had purchased HD-DVD players. Blu-ray Writer from LG
2008-04-26 08:25:00
Ever since Blu-ray emerged as the winner in the HD wars, there's been a steady rise in the number of manufacturers offering drives based on this format for laptops ? and now, desktops. LG, with its GGW-HXXX series, is one. The GGW-H20L drive is LG's second generation drive with 6x BD-R writing support, HD-DVD playback, and a range of burning capabilities for normal CDs/DVDs, including Lightscribe. Before we proceed, I'd like to point out that due to unavoidable circumstances we were badly hampered (to know about the problems we faced, read on). Being PC-based, the H20L is a straightforward drive with just a polished black front panel. Connectivity is via SATA, which has become common. There is nothing much to report about its profile, as it?s identical to just about every ODD out there. For our performance tests, we used a rig with these specifications:AMD X2 4800 with 2GB RAMNvidia 9800 GTX GPUViewsonic 22-inch Vx2255WMBenQ 24-inch G2400WTesting this drive was a challenge in itsel...

The later technique is good but it uses system resources to do this task .Here is a better option, remove all the icons and then to remove the recycle bin icon , do the following :(1) Run > type "Regedit" .(2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / Desktop / NameSpace(3) Click on the "Recycle Bin" string in the right hand pane. Hit Del, click OK.Some people would also like to rename the recycle bin to show off , here is how to do it :(1) Open Regedit .(2) Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT / CLSID / {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}(3) Change the name "Recycle Bin " to whatever you want (don't type any quotes).
