2008-06-08 10:58:00 Kalyani Joshi, who topped the State HSC board exams, was expecting to feature in the merit list but certainly not 99 per cent marks. "I had worked hard and was sure of making it to the top three. But scoring 99 per cent was a surprise. I was not expecting high score in English, but I got 95 marks," said Kalyani. Except English (95) and Physics (99), she scored full marks in all the other subjects. Kalyani's score is 594 out of 600.Kalyani, a student of Mahatma Gandhi Junior College, Ahmedpur, Latur, had secured 84 per cent in Class X exams. "I toiled hard for two years to improve my performance. I used to study for eight hours a day. My teachers supported me a lot," she said. Kalyani's father Bhagwant Joshi is junior engineer in PWD in Nanded, while her mother Bhavna is a housewife. "Besides studies, reading, music and swimming are my hobbies. The Way Of Life
2008-06-08 10:47:00 (A poem I really like...dnt knw who wrote it though)This is what often happens, to friends who are close? One day you are together, the other day who knows? They were all together once, but were soon set free. Each one to go where they wanted to and be what they wanted to be!Life moved on and slowly with each passing dayEach one became busier in its own little wayLoved ones were soon forgotten, closed friends moved apart. All eager to go out in the worldAnd so they did depart.Slowly relations changed and promises were shattered,Friends who were each others life, were now all scattered,Gradually they did realize that old friendship had withered,And all that was left was memories spent together,Only memories to look back upon with a tear in the eyeMemories to cherish and rememberThey're things that never die!"Those were the days", they'd say, all longing to return. To days filled with love and concernBut everything in life changes you knowPeople come together and separate ways each goesF...
Time To Leave
2008-06-06 18:29:00 Well this feeling of going away from my friends isn't new to me... I've made lots of friends in my school life as well as junior college and also have been able to keep in touch with most of them, but as life moves forward, all went in different direction...and now its just the email which keeps us in contact with each other...And now its happening again...When I came to this college called VCET, it looked as if there was a building in the middle of the village which had a short path to reach it...This short path was none other then the name which engineers hate, 'THE KT MARG'. But now I have completed my Information Technology course in engineering and waiting for the results...Now there'll be no more bunking of lectures, no pangas with Professors, no more crappy assignments and journals to write and no more running around for submissions...But as I leave this college and look back and I think of those four years that have gone by...I wonder, I actually had fun in this place..... Manchester United Wins The Champions League
2008-05-22 17:19:00 Fifty years after the Munich air crash that claimed eight of his team-mates, a tearful Sir Bobby Charlton saw Manchester United crowned champions of Europe for the third time last night, holding their nerve in a penalty shoot-out on an evening when emotions were frayed and tempers flared in the Luzhniki Stadium.Sir Alex Ferguson suggested that fate had helped United to mark the anniversary of the Munich disaster by winning the Champions League , but the evening took them on a rollercoaster ride that encompassed Cristiano Ronaldo ?s early goal, an equaliser from Frank Lampard, a red card for Drogba in extra time after he slapped Nemanja Vidic during a 19-man and, ultimately, the shoot-out.Ronaldo, astonishingly, had his penalty saved and, four successful kicks later, John Terry had the chance to win it, but the Chelsea captain, deputising for Drogba, slipped as he shot and the ball shaved the outside of a post. With the fourteenth kick, Edwin van der Sar saved from Nicolas Anelka and t...

2008-05-12 16:47:00 Manchester united have clinched the Barclay's Premier League cup once again. A first half goal from Cristian Ronaldo set the mood rolling after Rooney was fouled inside the Penalty Area. A well taken penalty from Ronaldo sent the keeper diving the wrong way for a perfect goal.Substitute Ryan giggs finished off Wigan athletic at 81 minutes with the second goal. Wigan seemed ready to spoil the party for Red devils with a few close calls. But the attacking force of Tevez,Rooney and Ronaldo was too much to contain.Chelsea on the other hand, squandered a lead at the last minute to draw with Bolton 1-1. A Win for Chelsea and a draw for Man U would have made Chelsea title winners. But Fortune Favors the Best. And Manchester United Won the EPL title for the 10th time under Sir Alex Ferguson. This is United's 10th Barclay's Premiership title making it the team with the most number of title wins. Bhajji Ki BAN baj gayi...
2008-04-28 17:54:00 Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has been banned for 11 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) following his spat with Sreesanth at the end of Mumbai Indians? match against Kings XI Punjab on Friday. It would effectively end Bhajji?s stint in the first edition of the IPL - unless Mumbai make it to the semi-finals, which looks highly unlikely at this point.Harbhajan also faces separate action from the BCCI, which has asked him to explain, ?as a contracted player?, his role in the incident which came to light after Sreesanth broke down in front of the cameras.Niranjan Shah, the BCCI secretary, said on Monday that Sudhir Nanavati, a lawyer, has been appointed to conduct a ?preliminary inquiry? and submit a report ?within 15 days? to Sharad Pawar, the BCCI president, who will refer the findings to the board?s disciplinary committee for possible action.Bhajji deserves this punishment. Sreesanth also deserves punishment though he didn?t get one. A fine would have done better. But I ...

2008-04-28 17:34:00 When the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers needed a magic to get themselves started in the IPL tournament, their Vice-Captain and the dashing Wicket-Keeper, Adam Gilchrist has proved his worth. He smashed a century of a record 42 balls, the fastest of the IPL and the fourth Century of this tournament. He ensured that the Deccan Chargers reached the set target with ease and without much fuss.At the end of over number 10, Gilly scored a century with a huge hit off Abhishek Nayar over deep mid-wicket. He never stopped there and made sure that they won the game with all the wickets intact. Adam Gilchrist remained unbeaten on 109* of just 48 balls and V.V.S.Laxman on 36* off 29 balls. Gilchrist, in due course, hit 9 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. Had it been Deccan Chargers batting first, we might well have seen the first double hundres in T20 history. With the way he was going, it was a strong possibility. With this knock, Gilchrist has announced himself at IPL and you can expect many more k... More About: Party , The Party

According to the company, it weighted 5 pounds and cost a whopping $1,500. Since that time, Seagate has shipped the equivalent of 79 million terabytes of storage space. Hussey Follows McCullum
2008-04-19 17:56:00 The tournament opener in Bangalore began and ended with Brendon McCullum's blitzkrieg but Michael Hussey proved there was plenty to go around with a spectacular hundred of his own. "We'll just have to put runs on the board and pressure on Yuvraj [Singh]," was Mahendra Singh Dhoni's reason for batting first on what looked a dry Mohali pitch and 20 overs later his team, the Chennai Super Kings, had a superb 240 for 5 on the board. Hussey's scintillating unbeaten 114, another superb exhibition for this juiced-up format, left Kings XI Punjab with a daunting task ahead.Michael Hussey clobbered an unbeaten 114 as the Chennai Super Kings piled on a massive total. His cool head and ability to put away the average deliveries kept runs ticking over on a speedy outfield and his handling of the slow bowlers was superb. Piyush Chawla wasn't allowed to settle, and was hitted for 2 massive sixes in hs first over, Suresh Raina joining the party and hitting a few too. The Hussey-Raina stand, a b...

Futuristic Mobile Device
2008-04-17 18:06:00 If this concept Internet search device by designer Mac Funamizu takes off, the privacy advocates will be out in force to protest. It's like having Wikipedia wherever you go, but way cooler and far more advanced. The artist's idea is for this portable device to have a touch screen, built-in camera, scanner, Wi-Fi connectivity, Google Maps, and Google Search capabilities, among other features. The screen would probably double as the camera viewfinder, so it would be like looking through a piece of transparent glass. And when you point it at an object, the screen would show more details about it, such as the name of an insect, a car model, or food on the table. With existing technologies, we suppose it would use the onboard Wi-Fi to grab information off the Web.Full Article More About: Mobile , Device , Futuristic

Design firm Nikoladesign has a concept that may one day solve that problem. For the most part, this notebook looks pretty much like your regular portable computer. The difference is it has an extra flap which acts as a solar panel for converting light to power, according to Tuvie. This could come in useful for researchers and scientists who work outdoors as the places they operate in won't have conveniently located power sockets. If this ever gets made, sunblock lotion may become a new laptop accessory.Source: Crave Asia More About: Notebook , Solar
Yahoo And Google.
2008-04-17 17:18:00 Yahoo is closer to outsourcing its core ad search business to Google , after favorable testing of Google's advertisements on its search pages, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The WSJ cited people familiar with the matter who said that a deal between Yahoo and Google is increasingly likely given the status of the testing. The report also notes that such an outsourcing deal could give Yahoo a boost in its efforts to spur Microsoft into increasing its unsolicited buyout bid for the Internet search pioneer.Yahoo may need such help if Microsoft is concerned about the additional costs it may have to bear to retain Yahoo employees.A report in the New York Times noted "the hidden cost of 'flight insurance' against employee defections may also be a reason Microsoft has resisted raising its bid."The Times report, citing sources, noted Microsoft not only paid $800 million to acquire Tellme Networks but spent an additional $100 million on employee retention perks--or an avera... Working Of Email Scanning.
2008-04-10 15:15:00 Its a known fact that the emails we receive/ send are scanned before they reach us/intended recipient.Lets first discuss how the entire flow works in case of Incoming Mails.-> All the incoming mails ( infected/clean) irrespective of there status are sent to the Antivirus software?s temporary folder where they are scanned for infections by the software.-> In case, the Antivirus is not able to clean the mail, the item is moved to the quarantined items folder.-> All clean/disinfected mails are then sent to the Exchange server from where they can be pulled by the Email Client. In case of Outgoing mails, the following flow holds good.-> All mails from the Email Client are pushed to the Exchange Server.-> The mails are then moved to the Antivirus Software?s Temporary folder for scanning.-> In case, the mail is found infected and is out of the scope of clean function, its moved to the Quarantined Items Folder. All clean and disinfected mails are sent back to the Exchange server from where th... Mystery Behind SVCHOST.exe
2008-04-10 14:59:00 Often, when I boot my Windows XP-SP2 operating system, the first thing I notice is a huge CPU utilization by a process called as SVCHOST.exe.The process infact almost sucks up my entire CPU percentage. Therefore to gain an insight into what exactly goes on, I thought of dugging up about SVCHOST.exe.Leo Notenboom says ?On Windows XP, 2000, and 2003, SVCHOST is not a virus. On those systems SVCHOST is a required system component. If you happen to successfully delete it, your system will not run. You?ll be much worse off than before.?The svchost.exe file is located in the folder C:WindowsSystem32.During startup process of Windows, Svchost.exe which is located in the above mentioned folder checks the services portion of the registry in order to construct a list of various services that it needs to load post startup. Its perfectly normal to have multiple instances of Svchost.exe run at the same time. In such a scenario each Svchost.exe session can contain a grouping of services, so that...
