Nokia Launches 6110 GPS Navigator

In Barcelona at the 3GSM trade show, Nokia launched the new 6110 Navigator . The 6110 comes with built-in GPS and A-GPS (assisted GPS) modules and the mapping software needed to make it all work. The device will be able to tell you where you are, where the nearest points of interest are, and how to get to the destination of your choice. It can provide turn by turn voice instructions and on-screen turn indicators to aid in use while driving. Another hat-tip to drivers is the new mail application that can actually read your mail to you so that you don't have to take your eyes off of the road.Other things of interest in the S60 based smartphone include a 2 megapixel camera, high-speed HSDPA 3G data, and a microSD memory card that can add up to 2GB of additional storage to the slider handset.The 6110 will ship with local maps pre-loaded on a memory card when it becomes available in Q2 of this year. Research In Motion has announced a new entry to its popular messaging device line with the Black Berry 8800. Taking many styling cues from the consumer orientated Pearl, the 8800 is notable for also including a microSD memory card slot and media player, which do not normally make an appearance in RIM's enterprise lineup.The BlackBerry 8800 is quad-band GSM compatible, perfect for travelers, and carries a built-in GPS module for use with BlackBerry Maps. The trackball, a feature carried over from the Pearl, makes navigating the user interface through the QVGA resolution light sensing display easy. Live from the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Moto r ola has today announced the new MOTORIZR Z8 slider style handset. The Z8 is notable for several reasons, not least because of its Symbian-based user interface, which comes as a change for Motorola.The MOTORIZR Z8 sports HSDPA high-speed data and a design tooled for both mobile video streaming and talk with an interesting "kick slide" feature, allowing for a fit-to-face profile by having the slide move in a curve. The device sports a 2.2" QVGA resolution display, 90MB of on board memory with microSD memory expansion, and Bluetooth with A2DP. All this is packed into a handset just 15.3mm (0.6") thick. A 2.0 megapixel camera and full music playback capabilities are also included. Espoo, Finland - Nokia and French operator SFR have carried out a technical pilot on WCDMA 3G/HSDPA voice call on the 900 MHz band in SFR's network. After the disappointing 7360, we managed to get our hands on the Nokia 7373, another device in Nokia's new L'Amour 2 collection. Featuring the latest S40 UI, this swiveling member of the collection is a slight upgrade over its predecessor, the 7370. Armed with a 2-megapixel camera and an expandable memory card slot, the 7373 is a triband (GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz) phone and, like the 7370 before it, has support for EDGE data networks.The 7373 has a spring loaded swiveling mechanism that makes it really easy to push open. With just a slight nudge, the phone will swivel open automatically. This makes things pretty easy when answering calls or trying to reply messages. Our review unit came in a black and dark brown colour scheme with bronze highlights in a few areas. The leather-like battery cover is nice and gives a touch of class to the 7373.
