During the initial launch of the iPhone, Gartner analysts expressed concern over some security issues with the device, but recently announced enhancements, expected to be delivered in June 2008, have caused Gartner to change its recommendation. “Appliance-level” status permits the iPhone to be used for PIM, e-mail, telephony and browsing applications. Buzz Technologies Inc has today released Email Anywhere, an email platform that has accomplished the Microsoft Active Sync support already. The service allows any corporation to have all their emails loaded onto the Buzz Platform making them instantly available on any remote device including iPhone. The service features will allow IT departments to more easily monitor the devices on a corporate network as well as enforce security in the event of a lost device. The Financial Times is reporting that the sticking point in the talks is how much Cupertino-based Apple will pay the record labels for the access. The newspaper cites unnamed music industry sources for Wednesday’s report. Apple declined to comment.
