Pegasus - PDA from Asus!

It looks like Asus has a new PDA phone in the works. At least that’s what the iF Design Awards product gallery is telling us. Named Pegasus , this super slim (15.4 mm) Windows Mobile gadget combines phone, PDA, and GPS navigation system into one sleek package. It has a numeric keypad, jog dial, and allows for simple one handed control. The camera body is finished with brushed aluminum and diamond-cut edges to accentuate superior taste and a feeling of luxury. No further details are available at this time, but the name of this PDA phone (Pegasus was the original name of Asustek. They dropped first 3 letters for higher directory listings), makes us wonder just what plans Asus has for Pegasus’ future. For the rest of the specs, not to mention details on pricing or availability, it looks like we’ll just have to wait for an official announcement. We have seen many keyboards with backlighting but none that light-up anything like this one does. The keyboard will make you feel like you’re in a disco and probably not the classy types. Luxeed has taken keyboard backlighting to an all new degree. Now you can program keys with any one backlight color from 512 colors. You can even set your keyboard to light in a spectrum rainbow. You can create your own theme or skin of color pattern and even download patterns off the net. The keys can even be programmed to light up or dim out according to the surrounding music. Seems like the perfect old disco dance floor with cubes with various lighting. The keyboard is being marketed as a way to relieve stress via light therapy. No word on the pricing or availability. LG Combo Player - Blue-Ray/HD DVD!

LG had announced that it would release its Blu-Ray/HD DVD Combo player in the first quarter of 2007. Further reports say that it is expected to hit the markets on Feb 4th. The player lacks support for HDi and could pose a problem for LG. There is a slight rumor that Toshiba will be sued by the DVD forum for its standalone player. As long as it all plays in the favor of the consumer, these rackets will continue to happen. Best Buy employees are the people by whom the date has been announced. No word on the pricing of this combo player.

These Blue tooth headphones from Toshiba look just awesome. These headphones are A2DP compatible and will surely make you stand out from the crowd. The company showed these headphones at the CES but didn’t provide any information on the price and availability. These headphones by the looks of it have lots of controls and will be uncomfortable to wear. No ear cups always make headphones quite irritating. Toshiba claims high battery life and good quality sound from these headphones.

Yamaha speakers - NX-U10!

Here’s the bold claim of the day courtesy Yamaha , which has released the NX-U10 speaker, which it says is the world’s most powerful USB speaker. So, how much power? Well, the company says 20w. Since a USB port can only provide 5V/0.5A of power, regular speakers usually offer just 0.5W per channel. But Yamaha has developed the “Charged Capacitor Amplifier”, so it can throw out 10x the normal power - 10W x 2. And to boost the sound even more, Yamaha’s SR-Bass technology reproduces “the deepest bass ever” in relation to the size of speaker. The NX-U10 also offers battery operation if you are out and about, with an additional 3.5mm input jack to enable your phone, iPod, MP3, and or analogue source to connect too. Available in the early part of 2007, priced at ” 149, so that’s about Rs. 12,000.

Samsung has once again struck home with the Samsung Ultra Edit ion 10.9 Slide r. Successor to the D900, Samsung has managed to shave 2 more millimeters from it. However the features are the same as the D900 with 3.2 megapixel camera, mp3/video player, digital power amplifier, Stereo Bluetooth, TV-out port, 80MB of internal memory, and built-in Micro-SD card slot. Motorola MotoRIZR Z6!

Based on the currently running Moto RIZR Z3 Motor ola has launched the MotoRIZR Z6. This is an EDGE version of the phone. The Z6 will have an upgraded interface supporting Windows Media Player 11 connectivity. The phone will have a new better QVGA screen and will weigh 10 grams less. The same 2 MP camera with some improvements is expected and the whole phone will be available in the mid of this year.
