Apple’s Mystery: MacBook Touch or Mac Tablet
2008-07-24 14:50:00
There’s a tech rumors around us about a Mac tablet to get a gulp of oxygen after Apple executives revealed a hint at a “Future Product Transition,” followed by whispers of a “MacBook Touch ” slated for the fall. Apple tech rumor No. 1: Monday’s quarterly earnings report from Apple, during which CFO Peter Oppenheimer mentioned several times about a “Future Product Transition, which I can’t discuss it today.” Of course, that touched off a frenzy of speculation, ranging from a revamp of the Apple MacBook and Apple MacBook Pro notebooks (rumors of which were recently fanned by purported spy shots of new casings) to the new Apple iPods, or even “a new form factor of devices that are smaller than a laptop but larger than an Apple iPhone,” as the New York Times put it. New Technology: Air-Condition Computer Chips
2008-07-17 11:25:00
Purdue University scientists have taken a new method from air conditioner technology in their next innovation for a whole new way to cool down ever-more powerful pc/ computer chips. Their new experimental system, which flushes a refrigerant through tiny channels cut into chips, is intended for the high-demand power electronics found in radar system and advanced weapons systems such as laser-based weapons, said Issam Mudawar, an engineer in medical field (professor at Purdue). A team member: Mudawar, who’s in lead of the research, said the air-condition computer chips cooling system should be able to cool the chips that produce higher than 1000 watts of heat for about every half-inch square of circuitry. He said that would be a fivefold increase over the heat-removing abilities of existing systems that typically rely on air-cooling to waft heat away from microprocessors. “Basically what we’re doing is opening the window of opportunity in terms of heat dissipation, s...

Keep Switching On-Off LCD Screen Will Burn It Out?
2008-07-09 19:07:00
Did you ever wonder does turning off a TV, Monitor or LCD computer screen to save energy will damage the screen itself? We’re worried about frequently powering our monitor/screen on and off numerous times in a day. Will it shorten and effect the lifespan of the screen? This problem likely stems from many readers’ childhood days, when our parents said that frequently turning the lights on and off would make the bulbs burn out. Dad was probably just annoyed at our behavior… but was he right? Taken from Yahoo Tech News, an author posed the question of the problem whether monitors and LCDs can be damaged by frequent power cycling to a number of manufacturers of these screens and got quite much the same response from everyone he asked: There’s no risk. Don’t worry about it. The power we’re savings from having an unused monitor screen turn off far outweigh any cost associated with the risk of damage to the monitor, which is pretty much dollars. New PC Keyboards For Your Typing Pleasure
2008-06-23 12:59:00
Hello there, this time I would like to share some tips with you about the new computer’s keyboards. Here comes the three brand-new keyboards that are all worth to take a look at… and greatly recommended for you: Type A: Razer Lycosa This keyboard for gamers is slick as it gets. Completely black in color, with matte buttons covered with a rubber sheen that gives the button keys more grip than standard plastic keys. This Lycosa requires a quite amount of setup: 2 USB ports and 2 audio connections. Do you know why? Because there’s a passthrough USB and audio ports on the rear of this gaming keyboard, and also to power the backlighting on the keyboard. All the keys on the Lycosa light up, but it’s also dim: Unless you’re looking straight down on the Lycosa keyboard while you’re using it, it can be hard for you to find out what button you’re really pushing. Gamers can also set the WASD keys to be the only ones lit up. The Lycosa’s gaming ke...

New iPhone Real Cost VS Other Smartphones
2008-06-15 19:50:00
I’m planning to do the same analysis today, but Gizmodo came along and saved us some work. Exactly: We’ve acknowledged that the Apple iPhone 3G is going to be more costly than the original Apple iPhone over the course of its life, but how if we compare it with other smart-phones on the market? Jason Chen ran the numbers against the three models that is: HTC Tilt, the HTC Mogul, and the XV6800, all most wanted smart-phones geared toward consumers. The results are all pretty close. Just $220 over two years separates the most expensive smart-phone (XV6800) from the least expensive HTC Mogul, not including the now-discontinued original Apple iPhone. (more…)
