Unlock iPhone 2G/3G with Firmware 3.1 on Windows
2009-09-16 20:31:00 Oh we have a very good news for all those Windows users out there. You will now be able to unlock the iPhone 2G/3G right away without having to wait for the Redsnow tool. PwnageTool 3.1 was released earlier today by the dev team but the fact that it can only be used by Mac users and leaves no ticket for Windows users seems a little unfair, so we made things a little easy for you. We created the custom IPSW for Firmware 3.1 on iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G which lets you update without having to meddle with the baseband. This Firmware comes with the stock Apple logo and Cydia. All you have to do is download it, restore it and that's it. For the iPhone 3G Please use the links to download the custom IPSW of Firmware 3.1 for iPhone 3G labeled iPhone1,2_3.1_7C144_Custom_Restore. http://bit.ly/iphone3g-custom31-sizlopedi a http://bit.ly/iphone3g-custom31-sizlopedi a-p2 http://bit.ly/iphone3g-custom31-sizlopedi a-p3 Once downloaded, join the file parts using HJSplit and extract the ZIP archive to ... Unlock iPhone 2G on Firmware 3.1 with Pwnage Tool
2009-09-16 04:18:00 Finally! I managed to steal my sister's iPhone 2G and experiment on with unlocking it using the PwnageTool on Firmware 3.1. The unlock method of iPhone 2G is as much same as that of iPhone 3G but more safe, in case you make a flaw you can easily recover and unlock your iPhone again which is not so easy in case of iPhone 3G and specially the new iPhone 3GS. Follow the steps with open eyes, and trust me you won't even need to ask for help in the comments. Please backup with iTunes before trying this. This process only works on Mac for now, no Bootloader files were needed during the unlock process. Grab and download the Pwnage Tool 3.1 for Mac OS X. Make sure to update to the latest iTunes 9 before attempting this unlock. Download the 3.1 Firmware for iPhone 3G and save it on your desktop. Run the Pwnage Tool 3.1 and select iPhone and click next. Select the Firmware 3.1 with build iPhone1,1_3.1_7C144 and click next. Select 'Yes', click next and then select 'No', now the 'Build... Download Pwnage 3.1 Tool to Unlock iPhone Firmware 3.1
2009-09-16 01:56:00 After all this wait, the iPhone dev team has finally released the Jailbreaking and unlock tool for the iPhone OS 3.1 firmware, and this is no less than a treat for all iPhone users out there. As instructed by the dev team, since the Apple's update process is a little complex for those on the iPhone 3GS so the current Pwnage Tool 3.1 for Mac OS X will only be able to Jailbreak the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 1G and hence unlock both the iPhone 2G and 3G using Ultrasnow. Here are some important points mentioned by the iPhone dev team before using PwnageTool 3.1: If you are using a 3G iPhone with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should only upgrade to 3.1 with a PwnageTool created .ipsw. If you have an iPhone 1st Gen then 3.1 unlock works with this PwnageTool release. This version of PwnageTool will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS. PwnageTool WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch (1st Generation) and the iPhone 3G... More About: Iphone , Firmware , Download

A Quick Look at the New Android Marketplace
2009-09-04 10:12:00 Good news for all Android developers and users out there is that Google has posted a video preview of the new Android Marketplace which shall be available in the upcoming Firmware 1.6 of Android. By the looks of it, it looks stunningly organized, high user-friendly and eye-catchy, close enough to the beauty of the App Store in the iPhone. The biggest change in this new version of the Android Marketplace will be a clean new interface, along with the option to view screenshots of apps or games before downloading or trying them. Also four new sub-categories for applications have been added namely: sports, health, themes, and comics. Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website. From what I have observed about the Android Marketplace so far is that it may not be the best thing around, but it is quite comparable to the App Store in iPhone in terms of having good-quality apps. What makes it even better is that most apps ... More About: Quick , Quick Look
Get invitation to try Yahoo! Meme microblogging service
2009-09-03 18:41:00 Twitter might be the best microblogging service in town so far, but this doesn't mean that we don't have room for more. All we need is a microblogging platform with a much better design, user-interface and posting features and we are all sold to it. That's where the new Yahoo ! Meme jumps in to meet our expectations. Not much can be said about Yahoo! Meme for now except that it looks like one of those Yahoo! services which actually may manage to live for long (really! it happens rare). On the guts, its basically a Twitter wannabe with posting features like those of Tumblr. The concept is mainly the same as that of Twitter, users get a dedicated profile page where they are able to post updates, although in this case the updates are not just point-less text babble but also photos, videos and even music which puts it at an upper level to Twitter in terms of usability. The dashboard is where you receive updates from the people you follow (Oh Yes! the Follow culture extends here as w... More About: Service , Invitation

Rumors and Predictions for the Apple music event ‘09
2009-09-03 12:20:00 Two days ago Apple announced a 'Rock and Roll' themed music event that shall be held on September 9th. Though the agenda for the event is still a secret to many, we can clearly make a guess that it will focus on the music-side of Apple, that being mainly some new announcements regarding the iPods. But then again! since its Apple here we are talking about, most of everything that we know and speculate about is composed of nothing but wild guesses. Here we have compiled a list of rumors and predictions for the event, mostly related to the announcements. iPods with Camera Personally! we have no doubts on this one. ImHalal, a search engine made for Muslims
2009-09-02 14:55:00 Let's say you are a Muslim and you are totally not satisfied with the search filters provided by Google and other search engines. Here comes a search engine named ImHalal that will give you the ease to search the Internet without coming across any content that might be considered as 'Haram' according to the Islamic Law. For a test, we entered some queries such as Alcohol, Nudity etc and were impressed to see that ImHalal does exactly what it's supposed to, it blocks the query and warns the user since the results for the query may contain Haram content. Thats not all! ImHalal even gives you a rating for the searched query if its explicit or contains any sort of Haram content. Moreover, it is able to fetch not only links, but also images and news for any particular query. The search engine uses various techniques to determine which results fetched are supposed to be 'Halal' or 'Haram'. Now it may not be the best search engine out there but it still comes with a noble purpose.... More About: Search , Muslims , Search Engine , Engine , Made

Windows phones to be available in October
2009-09-01 22:10:00 If the title makes you think that Microsoft is about to launch a whole new line of self-branded smartphones in October , think again. In fact the buzz is simply about Windows Mobile 6.5, the new touch-friendly mobile OS by Microsoft, which shall be coming to phones in October this year. Perhaps a new strategy by Microsoft is to advertise the devices that run on its mobile OS platform as Windows Phones instead of labelling them as the traditional Windows Mobile phones. Now this might be a good thing in the sense that since most of the rebranded products and services by Microsoft have gone quite successful so far, this one might too. Though we do appreciate the new features in the updated version of Windows mobile OS and that Microsoft has done its best at providing a more touch-friendly experience in the new UI, making one less dependent on the stylus culture. Apart from the touch-friendliness, we expect to see the Windows Marketplace which is a one-stop place to shop for apps, suppo...
