Microsoft News-Yahoo Will Release Messenger For Vista

It seems like there’s an endless amount of software that doesn’t support Windows Vista . It’s not a surprise to me since I wrote an article about it a couple days ago. Any way, Yahoo apparently knows about the problem, and Yahoo announced that they will be releasing Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista. This is the first time a company is releasing a software with a Windows Vista-specific product criteria. Cnet describes the new Vista messenger as this… “The instant messenger program doesn’t have a lot of extra features (in some cases it has fewer than the generic Windows version). What it does have is an extremely pleasant look and feel. Using the Windows Presentation Foundation graphics engine built into Vista, the program smoothly resizes Windows and moves buddy icons around based on the screen real estate available.” The messenger will be released sometime…next year! I Hate Windows Vista-Backwards Compatibility Problems

So what do I have against Windows Vista this month? Well, this month, I will be talking about something that many XP to Vista PC users have encountered as well; backwards compatibility problems. The compatibility problem is a lot more serious than you can imagine. For example, last weekend, my mother tried to do her taxes with the famous tax program, Tubro Tax. Everything went find, until the following message appears on screen “Windows has encountered a problem with Tubro Tax and needs to shut down”. Because this, my mom lost all her tax data and needed to start the whole filing taxes process all over again! Sadly enough, the program did this the second time, but luckily for my mom, she saved all her data. Now, before you say “Well stop complaining and get one compatible with it!”, I’m going to say this; “There aren’t any!”.
