Funny air traffic controllers quotes
2007-03-14 21:17:00
Seeing as I have nothing else to post and I would like to try and add a post daily, I thought I would blog this from Digg as it is rather funny. These are just some funny air traffic controller quotes that apparently all happened. Tower: “Delta 351, you have traffic at 10 o’clock, 6 miles!” Delta ...

Top word processing mistakes
2007-03-13 18:40:00
I have seen many people while they are word processing make popular mistakes that make their document look untidy and unprofessional, this post is going to outline some of these and describe what should be done in order to correct them. Headings: In my opinion no headings should be underlined, center aligned or in italics, they should always be formatted as right aligned, bold and slightly bigger than the main body text but without manually formatting them unless you are using a word processor that does not have them predifined. Microsoft Office Word has a nifty feature enabling you to quickly select the heading style, saving you time and effort, use it. Paragraphs: In word processing, anything about paragraphs that your English teacher has told you should be forgotten, except punctuation, of course. Indents is what I am talking about, no paragraphs should be indented- it makes the place look untidy - and there is actually no need for a lump of white space before the text, it just ...

New WordPress plugins
2007-03-11 16:06:00
You may or may not have noticed that I have integrated a few new plugins and features around the blog, the first most noticeable one (without being logged in) is the post rating system, I have added this so that I know what my readers like and dislike. This can be useful for me to ...

Digg?s real growth rate
2007-03-10 22:15:02
About 2.2m US internet users visited Digg .com in February 2006, up from 600,000 a year before, according to Comscore Media Metrix. The measurement service fails to count properly some Firefox and Mac visitors, and likely understates Digg’s reach. But it’s the reference source for advertisers; and the trend line is probably accurate. read more | digg story

Google tools for webmasters
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Google Analytics combined with Google Webmaster Tool s can be a lovely set of tools for webmasters to eliminate web crawl errors and find out where your visitors are coming from whether that be referrer-wise or country-wise. Google Analytics tells you exactly how many page views and unique visitors you have had per day whilst also showing what website lead them to yours and approximately where they live. Google Webmaster Tools helps you to understand the Googlebot and how it operates, letting you fine tune the settings for the bot and showing you any errors that it found while crawling your site. I use Google Analytics nearly every time I turn on my computer, just so that I can see how many people I get visiting my website, it can be quite handy. It is just a shame that there is no way to output the data onto your website, the only output features currently available is Tab Seperated Text, XML or as an Excel Spreadsheet, which isn’t really worth doing in my opinion. Google do o...

BlogMad, the evolved blog network
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Was generally browsing the web the other day - as you do when you get bored of Counter-Strike: Source, 7th game in a row win on Office and it is in the middle of the week so you don’t feel like doing anything (although my wins on Counter-Strike are more of 1 in 10, so that didn’t happen to me - and stumbled across Blog Mad. BlogMad is basically another blog trafficker, just like any other but with some improvements that seem to make it worthwhile registering for. For example you earn yourself credits for visiting peoples blogs that are registered on BlogMad, these credits can then be used to give your blog the added boost it needs to get more visitors from BlogMad, or they can be gambled on the lottery, where you have a change to win around 2000 credits per day. BlogMad says that they are not a revolutionary trafficking site, they are evolutionary: Its not a revolutionary trafficking site, hell no, those are a dime a dozen. It’s evolutionary! Because we have evolved...

Aggregators, what are they about?
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Aggregators or feed readers are software that a client can download which uses a web feed to retrieve syndicated web content such as weblogs, podcasts, vlogs, and mainstream mass media websites, or in the case of a search aggregator, a customized set of search results. I don’t personally use feeds as a way of viewing the latest on websites, instead I use the website itself and view them from the main page. Mainly because it looks a lot better to have the webpage open if it has a nice layout than it does to have the feed reader open, and can in some cases be easier (if, for example your feed reader is not online or you have to download an application, which you would not be able to do at school or work) also if the website I visit does not have a very stylish or easy-to-navigate/read layout I may not decide to return and read other posts or news. For example, the only two reasons I regularly visit FranticIndustries is because he posts a hell of a lot and the website has a very ...

Top 10 most beautiful blog designs
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Here are 10 of the most well designed blogs on the Internet, these really do make heads turn. I would say that numbers 4, 6 and 10 are not as good as the rest of them and, in my opinion, the best ones are the first and second. The blog it has been posted on aint half bad either though. Desi gn matters - as much as people argue against the face, it does. Blog design is no different. A poorly designed blog with amazing content will not receive as many readers as a beautifully designed blog with equal content. read more | digg story

ScreenMash website
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Dazed Media is currently in the process of creating a scrapbook-type website that will contain scraps from random websites that the admins/contributers upload, these scraps will looks something like the images below. I think that this is an extremely good idea as it gives website designers insirational thoughts. I am allways lacking of ideas for website designs and I end up making one that looks nothing like I originally had in mind. When it is up I will add the link to the sidebar, until then I don’t think he wants he broadcast - I can’t wait though, it sounds good from what he said.

Website up and running!
2007-03-10 22:15:02
For the first time ever, I have my own hosting and domain name! I purchased this speedy web server from Streamline and after around an hour of doing so I am beginning to feel the full thrill of my own blog/space without any restrictions! Soon I will get my portfolio/website uploaded to bull3t.me.uk, but for now you can visit my blog directly through blog.bull3t.me.uk. You may have noticed that this time I have not imported my posts from my old WordPress or Blogger blog to save space on my database and so that I have have a fresh start, I will not be posting on those two blogs anymore until further notice, but they will stay running so that you can view the old posts. The hard part of this is the fact that I now have to go through every website that I have registered to and change my website address and get this website popular.

Twitter updates
2007-03-10 22:15:02
Twitter is a community of friends and strangers from around the world sending updates about moments in their lives, it is updated about once every second by its ever-expanding users. It seems to have become very popular since it was first created. Many people use it when they get bored and have nothing to do, others use it to advertise their blog or website. Basically all you do is type a message and press a button, your message is then shown on a public timeline (if you have chosen too) which can be read by anyone. It is weird that so many people use something that is so simple, it doesn’t even achieve anything but for some reason it is fun to do, I met Tyler Longren on there and got talking to him about WordPress, so I suppose it is a good place to meet new friends that have the same interests as you. There are a few downsides to it as well, such as the fact that when you add your message and go to the public timeline to view it, by the time the page loads your message has n...

Hilarious suicidal knock knock joke
2007-03-10 22:15:02
A hilarious short video about one, incredibly strange roomate who just wants to tell a knock knock joke to his friend, who takes it very literally. Really great acting, YouTube video by “Pete and Brian”. Some of their other stuff isn’t that funny, but this one is hilarious because Pete managed to do it without laughing (not sure how many takes there were though). Press read more below to view the video. read more | digg story
