Superhuman Ninja Video Collection - Must See!
2007-04-13 16:33:00 I call them superhuman ninjas because what they do seems like it could only be done with trick photography in movies. But in reality, what they do is called free running, which involves passing all obstacles in as fluid a motion as possible. If you haven’t seen these guys jump off buildings, climb high walls, and otherwise do superhuman tricks with seemingly no effort, you’re missing out on an amazing spectacle. That’s why I’m including some of my favorite videos here. The best part in this video starts about two minutes in, when the French rap song kicks in. More videos after the jump. One New Wheel Converts Your Bike Into a Moped
2007-04-13 00:41:00 You heard me right. Just one new wheel on your bike can give you a fully gas-powered moped. Here’s the recipe: One bike “The Wheel ” from RevoPower Some tools Take off the old wheel, put on The Wheel (that just rolls off your tongue doesn’t it?), connect some wires, and you’re set! With this contraption, you get a one horsepower 25cc two-stroke engine that can go 20 mph on flat terrain and get you 100 miles per gallon. If that weren’t enough, it also only adds 12 pounds to your bike and runs very quietly. It’s amazing that such a thing can be packed into a standard sized bike wheel! Flying Alarm Clock Makes Clocky Seem Like Your Best Friend
2007-04-12 19:19:00 I thought Clock y was king of annoying alarm clocks. I was wrong. The Flying Alarm Clock from Hammacher Schlemmer shoots out a rotor into the air that flies around the room when the alarm rings. The annoying part: the alarm will continue to beep in your ear until you get up, find the rotor, and put it back in place. At least with Clocky there’s the possibility that it will exit the room entirely, in which case you no longer have to put up with its annoying beeping. With all the annoying alarm clocks around, I think I’d prefer to refresh myself in the morning as opposed to driving myself crazy. The Peaceful Progression alarm, from the same company, looks much more enticing. [via Hammacher Schlemmer] Tags: alarm clocks, flying alarm clock, gadgets More About: Your , Friend , Best
Which Web Browser Has The Most Satisfied Users?
2007-04-11 21:46:00 It’s not IE (obviously). It’s not Safari. It’s not Konqueror. It’s not even Firefox. It’s Opera! This conclusion is based on a survey that was recently carried out by NetApplications. “When the browser share is factored into the best browser voting, the analysis is even more revealing. The results imply that Opera has the most satisfied user base, followed by Firefox and [Apple’s] Safari,” according to NetApplications. “Opera is retaining its status as one of the internet’s best-kept secrets - less than one per cent of surfers worldwide use the browser.” But what is so satisfying about it? How Can I Break My Cellular Contract For Free?
2007-04-11 17:55:00 Here’s more good stuff from WikiHow. Cell phone companies these days are grabbing lots of users by offering free phones, cheaper rate plans, and other perks. The catch is that you’re locked in for two years. That seems fine at the time, but you may find yourself regretting it if you don’t like the service or want a cool new phone (iPhone perhaps?) that is only offered by a particular cellular company. If you have found yourself stuck in a two year contract that you are ready to break, you have several *legal* options to try to get out of it without paying the hefty termination fee. Life Tip: Salvage Your Soaked Cell Phone
2007-04-11 00:47:00 Everyone makes really stupid mistakes sometimes. One of the most tormenting mistakes is ruining an expensive piece of equipment due to absent-mindedness. Cell phones, due to their tiny size, are probably the most likely to get hit when our brains aren’t functioning correctly, and the washing machine is usually the final destination for our unlucky phones. If you’ve fallen victim to a wet cell phone, WikiHow offers some good tips to try to get it back up and running before you throw it away. Here’s a summary: Get it out of the water as soon as possible. Remove the battery. In fact, do it right away! The sooner the better, as electricity and water certainly don’t mix Remove your SIM card and pat it dry. If this is the only successful operation, at least you’ll be able to salvage your contacts and other personal data Use a towel or paper towel to remove as much of the water as possible. Allow your phone to dry. Or, oddly enough, if you soak your ph... More About: Life , Phone , Cell Phone , Your
Super Mario 64, 8-bit NES Style
2007-04-10 17:35:00 A YouTube user has taken the time to replace the textures in the N64’s Super Mari o 64 game with sprites used in the original Super Mario Bros. game for NES. It’s quite a strange morph of 2D and 3D goodness, though worth checking out. [via Kotaku] Tags: gaming, retro, Nintendo, NES, N64 More About: Style

The site should be at least somewhat usable, though, so I’m not planning on pushing it into maintenance mode, in case you’re wanting to browse the archives. Amazing Ball Bearing Clock
2007-04-02 20:33:00 This is by far the coolest clock you’ll see today (or this year, for that matter). A DIY guru at hackedgadets.com has put together this massive work of machinery that keeps itself ticking using ball bearings. It’s not available commercially, but it really ought to be (not that I could ever afford it, though). [via TechEBlog] Tags: ... More About: Clock , Amazing , Ring , Ball , Lock
Life Tip: Fix Car Dents With Dry Ice
2007-04-02 19:54:00 Apparently, it’s possible to fix small dents by applying dry ice to the center of the dent. The cold temperature causes the metal to contract and the dent pops back into place. Take it or leave it. I haven’t tried it myself, so I can’t recommend it either way. My main concern would be messing up ... More About: Life , With

Flowline Computer Animated Water (Video)
2007-03-31 21:07:00 In my opinion, rendering the flow of water realistically would be one of the hardest tasks involved in any CG animation project. However, the Flowline technology from Scanline VFX is truly amazing at producing realistic water effects, so much so that it is very difficult to tell it apart from real water footage. Check out ... 2007-03-31 02:27:00 It’s not quite big enough to transport people, or even Chihuahuas for that matter, but the GFS has interested the military.
