Gadget Model Ronaldo Wants His Money From Bankrupt BenQ Mobile
2007-03-23 09:20:00
Gadget Model Ronaldo Wants His Money From Bankrupt BenQ Mobile Real Madrid soccer star Ronaldo was doing some gadget modeling for BenQ Mobile who sponsored the Real Madrid team. Apparently he did not get paid yet and BenQ mobile is bankrupt. Real Madrid has still to play with BenQ Mobile shirts until July. BenQ Mobile owes about 1.2 billon Euros (~$1.6 billon) to about 4,000 entities (mostly former employees). Ronaldo is one of creditors. His lawyer hopes to get 20% of the money owed from Ronaldo?s mobile phone endorsement contract. I think, Ronaldo will survive without the BenQ mobile money, others are not so lucky. The pressure on BenQ mounts that they will have to cover for the losses of their mobile unit.

Matchbox Concept Cellphone is Creator?s Revenge Against Boring Phone Design
2007-03-20 14:21:00
Matchbox Concept Cell phone is Creator ?s Revenge Against Boring Phone Desi gn The designer of this matchbox concept cellphone hates ?hi-tech, hi-solution, colorful, sleek, pretty?? cellphones, but admits that he can?t just not use a cellphone. So, rather than complain until he?s blue in the face, he threw together this odd looking cellphone. Its name derives from the way it opens: rather than flip open like so many others, it slides open to reveal its keypad. Now, there?s a about a zero percent chance of this ever seeing the light of day, but it certainly pleases me to see folks constantly try to one-up the big cellphone manufacturers? staid designs.

M-Bird MP3 Play er - The Tiny Tiny BoomBox The M-Bird MP3 Player must be vying for the smallest media player with stereo speakers on-board. Along with MP3, unprotected WMA, and OGG audio files, it?ll play AVI, MPEG, WMV, and ASF video files (after converting with the included software), JPEG images, and TXT files (with auto scrolling). MobiBLU Unveils A3 and A5
2007-03-19 15:53:00
MobiBLU Unveils A3 and A5Two new nearly identical mobiBLU players were announced at CeBIT in Germany this week. As you can see, the A3 and A5 sport a rather eye-catching (albeit familiar) blue LED surrounding their controls. Sadly, though, that's about it. Seriously, aside from the bright lights, the players offer nothing we haven't seen a hundred times before. Equipped with a 1.5" (A3) or 1.8" (A5) 65K-color LCD, the flash DAPs have microSD card slots (no info on internal storage), FM radio and recorder, built-in microphone, photo viewer, and support for MP3, WMA, and MTV files. You've read this a hundred times before, too, but it fits nicely with an unoriginal player so here goes: pricing and availability are currently unknown.

Griffin Premiers TuneFlex AUX
2007-03-16 11:03:00
Griffin Premiers Tune Flex AUX iPod?-car integration has progressed surprisingly slowly considering the dominant success of Apple's product in the mp3 player market. For years the iPod carrying populace has had few options other than accepting the diminished audio quality that results from the FM-tuner solution, and rather typically American auto manufacturers have been incredibly late in acknowledging the demands of the market, and have only recently begun offering means of getting an iPod hardwired into a car's stereo. In most cases this hardwired option is nothing more than a standard mini-jack input in the car's head unit. Users who connect in this way are treated to much higher quality sound and no interference, but are suddenly left without a means of keeping an iPod positioned in easy reach and fully powered.

NAND Video iPod Could Shake Up Memory Market
2007-03-15 16:30:00
NAND Video iPod Could Shake Up Memory Market A UBS analyst said today that indications point to Apple using a different type of memory in its next video iPod, a switch that would significantly affect suppliers Sandisk and Marvell. UBS analyst Alex Guana said Apple could be working on 16GB and 32GB models of their video iPod that use NAND flash memory, as opposed to hard disk drives, or HDDs. Guana said Sandisk would benefit from the switch and upgraded the company from a "neutral" rating to a "buy." He explained in a client note that a NAND-based video iPod would help increase demand for the memory and drive up its value. Sandisk has been hurt recently by gluts in NAND inventory that sapped prices.
