The weirdest clock ever - and it's near my job
2009-03-02 00:37:00 This is the Corpus Clock , the weirdest clock ever. It's located just in the corner of my job's street and sometimes is hard to walk around because everybody wants to take a picture, make a video. Its name is Chronophage (literally "time eater") and actually, the clock is pretty cool, showing time bot literally and metaphorically. The clock is entirely accurate only once every five minutes. The rest of the time, the pendulum may seem to catch or stop, and the lights may lag or, then, race to get ahead. According to its creator, John C. Taylor, this erratic motion reflects life's "irregularity". Conceived as a work of public art, the Chronophage reminds viewers in a dramatic way of the inevitable passing of time. Taylor deliberately designed it to be "terrifying": "Basically I view time as not on your side. He'll eat up every minute of your life, and as soon as one has gone he's salivating for the next." Others have described it as "hypnotically beautiful and deeply disturbing"...

Scotland and a great end for a hard month
2009-01-02 21:10:00 December was awful. Actually, everything started on late November. Andre got a winter bug, and was vomiting for 3 days. Then, was Filipe's turn: high fever and vomiting. Renato started his new job on December, 1st and on his second week he was poor. On his 3rd week he received a letter from his doctor to stay at home for the whole week. I was sick as well, with a strep throat that triggered an asthma crisis... I went to my office 4 or 5 days in December: always on sick leave, or child sick leave or working from home. We started to get better on 24th, and after a whole month stuck in our house, we decided to do a small trip. Well... not too small - 1000 miles driving... We visited the Sherwood Forest, Skipton, the Lake District, South of Scotland (Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, Edinburgh and Peebles) and finally Hadrian's Wall and Durham Castle.
