I've got some complaints about my RSS feeds (for the interested: I used <content:encoded> that's why they didn't validate). I have rewritten my DRV Syndication Generator Framework (Feed burner for short), which is now at version 1.0.2. It's now W3C compliant and will validate!

Bless me father, for I have sinned... I've been very busy lately and neglected my blog, which isn't good! The main focus (the reason why I've created this blog) was to write about digital lifestyle products (software/hardware) and how they affect our lifestyle. There are about 100 different RAW formats/variations/flavors. I hope in the future camera and software developers will collaborate and create an unified RAW format. Adobe has tried to address the lack of an open standard for RAW files, but instead created an other RAW flavor called DNG. The problem lies in the fact that camera developers don't natively support DNG.Microsoft wouldn't be Microsoft, if they wouldn't created their own proprietary format. They recently released the file specifications of Windows Media Photo (WMP) but hey, who cares?Nikon even encrypts their white balance information contained in NEF files and isn't readable to third party RAW converters.It would be nice to see a MPEG like group which defines the (Open)RAW lossless format. God Of War

In December of last year I talked about the game Prince of Persia 3: The Two Thrones. Last Christmas I got a new game from my girlfriend called God of War . I didn't know the game, neither have I read any reviews (yes, I know I've lived in a cave). For sure this is the best game I've ever played. It's a real dark greek tragedy. I'm not even gonna post screenshots of the game. If you don't already own it buy it! play it! and be amazed! It kept me hooked for several weeks.

One of the creatures of Middle-Earth from the Lord of the Rings triology is called Shelob (noticed the word She in Shelob?). Alan Lee has made great paintings of this monstrous creature. We already have a spider called Aragog (The giant spider from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, who lives in the forbidden forest. He is the creature that Hagrid raises when he is a student at Hogwarts). Today we got a new member in our Araneae familiy: a mexican red-knee (Brachypelma Smithi).

Adobe today released a new application called Adobe Light room. It will compete with Apple's Aperture on many fronts, though it's still in beta stage it looks like a lean, mean and clean application. It's available now for testing!

Aperture, a relative new application was added recently to the pro line-up. I have already developed a love-hate relationship with this new Apple pro application! I should concider it just a 1.0 release and hope that this potentially great application will evolve gradually in time. Hopefully Apple will support my Canon EOS 350D soon! In the mean time I'll have to do with the Raw.plist hack or just shoot in JPEG.

Okay I had to buy a new camera, a new SLR (Single Lens Reflex) digital. I had a 'happy snapper' but i missed my good old Cano n EOS 500. So after a little research between Nikon D70 and the Canon EOS 350D, I decided to go for the Silver Canon EOS 350D with USM (Ultrasone Motor) lens. In the the future i'll buy a IS (Image Stabiliser) USM lens. O, boy what a camera! Soon I will post some pictures made with it...

Ahuuuuha, Red Alert!!! A virus wasn't detected!!! Someone posted a file on MacRumors.com and said it were screenshots of Mac OS 10.5 (codename Leopard). The file is a compressed program with an icon to make it look like a JPEG file. Safari actually warns you that "Name of the file" may contain an application. The safety of this file cannot be determined. Are you sure you want to download "Name of the file"? After you agree, Safari will download the file and if in Safari's General Preference Pane the option "Open "safe" files after downloading" is turned on, it will expand the file automatically to your chosen location. So if you want to be "super" secure, turn this option off. Most users are administrator on their machines, so if you double click the executable it will automatically install itself in ~/Library/InputManagers and deletes all files from this folder. I'm a big fan of George Lucas! Just like Peter Jackson, Steve Jobs and Leonardo Da Vinci! I like people who like to change the world and not conform to the 'Status Quo', people who like to think different! Change is always hard, sometimes nearly impossible! That's what I like at George Lucus, he doesn't what to conform to the film industry (a very conservative industry). He likes to change it and many other things!!! He opened the keynote at Siggraph 2005 (and a very interesting keynote it was!!!)

I've bought a harman/kardon AVR system with all the gadgets (DVD player, and 7.1 surround set-up). De sound of this system is amazing! I've watched LOTR which is the only DVD I currently own which supports DTS 6.1 ES. Update: To complement my AVR I've bought a second Airport Express unit, hooked it up with a optical cable from Monster Cable and WHOA, this is the true Digital Lifestyle Hub.

A good friend of mine (Henk van de Goor) was talking about a recipe he saw in a movie called Once Upon A Time In Mexico from director Robert Rodriguez. In the film Sands (Johnny Depp) eats a dish called Puerco Pibil (slow-roasted pork) that tastes so good it inspires him to kill the cook.The DVD contains a featurette called "Ten Minute Cook ing School: Puerco Pibil" a short documentary featuring Robert Rodriguez himself.
