2008-04-29 00:14:00
Avast is a good free anti-virus but occasionally even the good software makes a mistake. It identified uTorrent as a trojan which deleted the file from the computer. Hopefully this was a mistake on Avast’s part and not part of some larger media monopoly conspiracy. The beauty though of uTorrent is that it is only ...

Twinkle - iPhone Twitter
2008-04-17 20:17:00
I have previously spoken about my current fascination with everything Twitter . I also recently jailbroke my iPhone, so decided to try out the twitter application, Twinkle . I am so very impressed by Twinkle. Not only is it an iPhone twitter application but it also adds geo location functionality. The iPhone uses wifi signals to approximate your current location and while not quite as precise as GPS, it seems to get the job done in pinpointing you to a general location (within a mile or so usually). Twinkle includes the usual public twitter stream, a stream of your friends messages, and also a stream of all users geographically located near to you. You can set the distance from anywhere between 1 and 252,000 miles. It works great and allows you to find other Twinkle users close by. Twinkle also includes the ability to attach an image from your iPhone camera. It appears the image is only visible to other Twinkle users. If you view your tweet on any other client, at least the ones I tri...
