Awtar at the Grand Hyatt - A Feast Indeed
2008-03-31 00:34:00 There are two things to know about eating at the Awtar restaurant, which is situated at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. The first is that this will not be a cheap meal at around Dhs400 per person which works out at the moment to about $108 US and around £50 GBP. The second is that, it is ok that the night will not be cheap, as you will not need to eat for the following three nights. There is an a la carte menu here, but that would be to take the route of the coward. Go for the set menu as always recommended by the friendly staff and you will be glad you had the experience. And an experience it is. You will be treated to lots of excellent cold mezze followed by bowls and bowls of hot dishes, after which you will be thankful. The problem is that when you were just coming to terms with what a wonderful meal you have just had, the waiters hurry to your table again, eager to serve you with fresh platters of kebabs and seafood, plates of salad and bread baskets. A wonderful evening of dining t... More About: Feast , The Grand

2008-03-28 18:33:00 The Dubai Museum is considered by locals to be a must see place which should be on lists of places to visit for all tourists to Dubai. The museum is well worth a visit. Originally, the museum was the residence of the ruler of Dubai and was Dubai’s primary sea defence when it was constructed as the Al Fahidi Fort in 1787. The current museum was housed within the fort’s walls when it was renovated in 1970. The well thought out and attractive displays inside allow you to peak at an Islamic school, walk through a 1950’s souk and even watch traditional craftsmen at work. The Dubai Museum is open 8.30am until 8.30pm Saturday to Thursday and from 2.30pm until 8.30pm on Fridays. Admission is Dhs3 for adults and Dhs1 for children aged 4-6. Under 4’s are free.

From being a modest port at the coast of Gulf to one of the richest economies in the entire region. From an insignificant bunch of tribesmen to being one of the most influential emirates of UAE. Dubai has seen it all in what could be termed as a very small chapter of modern history. One should not be surprised therefore, why it went on to become one of the best economies and tourism spots of the modern times. There are roughly two dozen five-star hotels and an equally good number of other lodging facilities available in Dubai right now. These facilities include some of the most expensive hotels you might have seen ever. Also available are the inexpensive facilities that can take care of the low-end need...
