A federal judge denied boy band guru Lou Pearl man bond Wednesday after hearing the case of the music promoter.Pearlman will have a public defender because he said he has no money to hire an attorney, WESH 2 News reported. His trial is set for September.As Pearlman was led into the federal courthouse, he joked at times with other prisoners, as he did during his return to Orlando."He just had a happy attitude. He was joking with the other prisoners in the van and a lot of it had to do with the weather, you know, the heat," Jimmy Disbrow, deputy U.S. Marshal said.Pearlman faced a judge on five counts of bank, wire and mail fraud and was held without bond.Pearlman's former attorney, Cheney Mason, said it was "poetic justice" that the former millionaire requested a taxpayer-funded public defender.Mason said Pearlman owes him $15 million and he said he believes Pearlman is hiding millions of dollars."The smartest thing he could do is in fact to be honest with his lawyers about where that...

Small ship cruise line adds another Jacksonville stopJacksonville Business Journal - 4:10 PM EDT Monday, July 9, 2007A Rhode Island-based small ship cruise line will add a 12-night cruise along the East Coast that includes a stop in Jacksonville.American Canadian Caribbean Line Inc. has been offering an East Coast cruise that stops in Fernandina Beach and ends in Jacksonville.ACCL has now added a Philadelphia-to-Jacksonville cruise that will have stops in Baltimore; Charleston, S.C.; and Savannah, Ga., among others.The 183-foot ship, which has 50 cabins and a capacity of 100 passengers, will dock on the Northbank Riverwalk in front of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Kissimmee shopping center soldOrlando Business Journal - 1:19 PM EDT Monday, July 9, 2007Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust on Monday announced it has sold two of its shopping centers to a newly formed joint venture that it formed with Heitman LLC.Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Ramco-Gershenson (NYSE: RPT), a real estate investment trust, will hold a 7 percent interest in the joint venture, which involves the Kissimmee West Shopping Center in Kissimmee and the Shoppes of Lakeland in Lakeland. Total value of the two centers is $52.9 million and both are 100 percent leased."The formation of this joint venture is a win-win for both our company and Heitman," says Dennis Gershenson, Ramco-Gershenson president and CEO, in a prepared statement.Ramco-Gershenson will continue to manage the properties, earning market fees for the services it performs.Chicago-based Heitman manages about $20 billion worth of real estate in the United States, Europe and Asia.
