britney slammed for chaotic parenting.
2007-10-31 03:19:00
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop singer Britney Spears barely played or spoke with her two young sons during a court-ordered visit by a parenting coach, who said their home life "ranged from chaotic to almost somber with little communication at all."According to court documents released on Tuesday, in which Spears failed to regain joint custody, the parenting coach said Spears clearly loved Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.But the coach said Spears "rarely engaged with the children in conversation or play" and said the boys had no real schedule or routine."It seems that her choices are dependent more upon what she (Spears) wants to do at any given time rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children," the parenting coach said in her report.Spears, 25, lost custody of the boys to her ex-husband Kevin Federline on October 1 after she failed to comply with court-ordered drug and alcohol testing. The couple have been fighting over visitation arrangements ever since.Los Angeles ...

Britney Spears allowed visits with sons
2007-10-31 02:45:00
LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears can have sleepovers with her two boys — if she has regular drug and alcohol tests, childproofs her home and buckles the kids in car seats, a court commissioner ruled Tuesday. The pop star, who is seeking to regain the shared custody she lost earlier this month, also must continue meeting with a court-appointed parenting coach, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled.Calls to lawyers representing Spears, 25, and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 29, were not immediately returned. The nine-page ruling said Spears could have overnight visits with her kids — something she had been seeking. She will get two visits a week from noon to 7 p.m. and one from noon to 10 a.m. the next morning. All the visits will be monitored. The order also cited some details of an Oct. 19 report submitted by parenting coach Lisa Hacker about her observations of Spears with Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.The report makes it clear that Hacker feels Spears "loves her chi...

"A beautiful country, very tropical. You've got great waterfalls."Then, before turning to walk inside, she added: "I'm not going to be political. Thank you very much."Last month, Chavez met in Caracas with American actor Kevin Spacey, who praised the Venezuelan government's efforts to support film-making. Stone me, Rodders, I've met my match!
2007-10-22 03:43:00
IT may be long way from Peckham but the lovely jubbly Hampstead Garden Suburb has adopted its very own Del Boy.   Heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora is taking the sport by storm after winning his third professional fight on Saturday.   But the 23-year-old from Addison Way is getting just as much attention for his boxing nickname.   The 6ft 2ins bruiser is known as Del Boy, enters the ring to the Only Fools and Horses theme tune and is bidding to buy a Trotters Independent Traders Reliant Regal to drive around the Suburb.   On top of all that, his manager's name is Lawrence Rodney.   "I love the show - everyone does, what's not to like with it?" Mr Chisora said.   "I got the nickname from a guy who was writing about me as an amateur and it just went on from there. My job was buying and selling cars and I was a bit of an entrepreneur so it fits with that."   Mr Chisora trains in Finchley and is living with his mo...

Fighting back Teens take on dating violence
2007-10-17 04:44:00
Nicole Sowin and Emma Vernon, Greenwich High School juniors, want to stop teen dating violence.Recently, they asked 12 new members of YNet, a school activist group, if anyone had witnessed or experienced such violence in high school. Most hands flew up but no one said a word."Teen dating violence happens," Vernon tells the group, many among them apparently sombered by what they just learned. "It happens (at Greenwich High School). It happens everywhere. You may not know someone directly affected by it, but it is definitely happening around us."Teen dating violence, she explains, is a pattern of controlling behavior that can include physical violence, emotional or psychological intimidation or sexual abuse and can happen to anyone of any age, race, religion, sexual orientation or economic level.Sowin and Vernon head YNet with Chrissy Barnum and are known as its executive committee (ExCom for those in the know). To illustrate the prevalence of teen dating violence, the pair refers to a...

'The Ritz' Is Back After 3 Decades
2007-10-14 03:54:00
Terrence McNally's "The Ritz" was born during the 1970s sexual revolution, an era of liberation extravagantly celebrated at the Continental Baths, a gay New York bathhouse where an unknown Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Wayland Flowers and others once performed for a towel-clad audience.Today, its author calls the play, set in a bathhouse not unlike that exotic establishment, "a period piece.""There was a time at the height of the AIDS crisis that I would not have allowed a revival ..., but I think we're ready to see it again," McNally says.Enter the Roundabout Theatre Company, which has revived the comedy at another iconic 1970s landmark, Studio 54, in a production directed by Joe Mantello and starring Kevin Chamberlin and Rosie Perez."`The Ritz' is a sex farce, my tribute to Feydeau," says McNally, the author of "Love! Valour! Compassion!" and "Master Class" as well as the books for such musicals as "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "Ragtime" and "The Full Monty," referring to Georges ...

Actress Marsha Hunt Still Spry at 90
2007-10-14 03:51:00
Marsha Hunt turns 90 on Wednesday, but you'd hardly know it. Her lovely face remains, remarkably, relatively unlined. She's slim and vigorous. And she has total recall of her life in Hollywood, including the infamous blacklist that almost killed her career. Her 89th year has been a busy one. She was a guest of honor at the Noir Film Festival in San Francisco, where one of her films, "Raw Deal," was shown. And she later acted in a short noir drama filmed nearby. "I got it in one take," she says proudly.Last spring, the mid-century screen star recited a traditional poem at the Hollywood Bowl's annual Easter sunrise service. She was supposed to read the selection, but because of an eye ailment she memorized all 96 lines, getting through it "without a net to catch me."She recently produced a CD of pop songs by young Tony London, accompanied by the Page Cavanagh Trio. And she's the subject of three paper doll collectables dressed in the high-fashion designs she wore on the screen, as w...

Simon Cowell Music Mogul Millionaire
2007-10-12 11:45:00
Simon Cowell is best known as the obnoxious judge on the hit TV show American Idol whose cynical comments sent contestants running out the door in tears, but what most don't know is that his work didn't start there and most definitely won't end there. His list of achievements is long and includes being a successful record producer and executive for the BMG UK record company to gathering wannabe entrepreneurs on his show, American Inventor. Before The Fame: Cowell was born on October 7, 1959 and was raised most of his early life by nannies before being sent off to a boarding school. He acted up constantly in school and was consequently transferred sixteen times before finally leaving it all together at the age of sixteen. Early Years: Cowell then began work as a modest mail room clerk for EMI Music Publishing where his father worked. He soon moved up to become a record producer but left to form an independent music company, E&S Music, which didn't quite make it, forcing Cow...

Just Kiss Her
2007-10-12 11:34:00
I have a friend who is just a natural with people. It's as though he has this compulsion to talk to whoever he finds within ten feet of himself. He's funny and a fantastic conversationalist. Despite this rare and coveted gift, however, he just has no luck with women. When we were discussing his maligned fortune, he said he had a hard time "closing the deal," asking me how I went from talking to a girl at the bar to pressing her up against the jukebox. He was shocked by my answer... "I just kiss her." You can talk to a girl for an hour and be no closer to your goal. Or, you can open the conversation amicably, convert to flirting, and if she responds favorably, just kiss her. If she's receptive at all, she'll be impressed you ACTED, and chances are she'll kiss you back. If she pushes you away, you just saved yourself an hour of wasted conversation, and you're free to try again with someone else. Yes, it is that simple.

A Vacation To Remember in London, England
2007-09-29 09:40:00
My time in London was set right in the middle of my month long overseas adventure. From Christchurch, New Zealand I'd traveled through Bangkok and onto the majestic city of London. Just flying over the area was exciting; looking down on the Thames River was great and for some reason reminded me of the Eastenders TV programme. After settling in at my sister's apartment I got some valuable sleep, traveling can be great fun but the jet lag can quickly bring you back down to earth. The next day I headed out to St Paul's Cathedral, it's an amazing monument and was well worth the visit. After taking the usual touristy photos in front of St Paul's I moved on to the Tate Modern Art Gallery. They had some really fascinating exhibitions on at the time with some great sculptures and art work. Heading out to lunch reminded me of how expensive everything is in London after you've exchanged New Zealand dollars to British Pounds, after coming from the very cheap Bangkok; I realized that ...

Travelling with Your Camera
2007-09-29 09:39:00
Think positive! The year's not half over, there's still half to go. That is when it comes to Photography Events and Festivals. At least once a year, all across the country, smalltown America comes together to show their spirit by holding family-friendly festivals. These events are generally held on a weekend and feature local art, music and culture. And then there are the week long functions, such as the Yamhill Fair and Rodeo, which is held Sunday to Sunday in McMinville, Oregon. Not only will you FIND local art and cultural here, but you'll want to have your camera handy for those awesome rodeo riders and prizewinning flower entries. But the Photography Events I'm going to acquaint you with now are the ones held in metropolitan areas throughout the world. These functions draw both local and internationally acclaimed artists. There are several well known events planned for the second half of 2007. Some of these festivals are being held in various cities throughout the Unite...

Dating Tips and Seduction
2007-09-29 04:37:00
Some guys will never become great with women. "What?!" You might think I've lost my mind, but it's true. A lot of guys just won't get it. And it's not because they're not smart enough or somehow defective... In fact, it's a subconscious choice, that they have made unknowingly. I know what you're thinking. "How can I make sure I'm not one of those guys?" Am I right? Well I'm here to tell you how. You will probably never hear what I'm about to say from other gurus because it's such a very subtle but very powerful fix that most leave it out of the equation. Meet Matt. Matt's a good guy, likes to be social and has taken a bootcamp with another one of the pickup companies. But Matt still doesn't get the success he really wants; in fact he's not successful at all. "Vin, why don't you help him!?" There are a couple reasons why I don't help Matt out. One being he's too set in his ways and is stubborn. BUT, that's not ...

3 Tips for Celebri-Mom Daters
2007-09-25 07:57:00
Yes, dating as a celebrity is hard, but some stars do it better than others. Take (please, quickly) Britney Spears, who desperately needs a role model. Our nominee is Reese Witherspoon. Divorced from actor Ryan Phillippe, stylish Reese is now with all-around sweetie Jake Gyllenhaal. Never see them together? A lady never tells. So here's what Reese could teach fellow single mom Britney Spears here's what Reese could teach fellow single mom Britney Spears and other single celebri-moms looking for love: 1. A good man is hard to find. It doesn't matter if you're the most popular pop star in the world or an Oscar-winning actress, a good man is hard to find, and for sure you probably won't find him at Pure in Las Vegas at 3 a.m. on a Thursday. 2. Always put your family first. It's OK to take a night off from the club scene to hang out with the kids at home. A man who doesn't mind a quiet evening might be good for you, but try to stay away from your mannies and bodyguards. 3...

Britney Spears' Love Life -- Just Say, "Gimme More" or "Oops, I Did It Agai
2007-09-25 07:54:00
That says it all, doesn't it? The mother of two hasn't had much success when it comes to dating. She's just 25, but her many men already include Justin Timberlake, Columbus Short, a record producer whose name I can't even remember, that recent manny-bodyguard guy, and she's even been linked to Colin Farrell and Fred Durst. And then there are not one, but two ex-husbands: childhood friend Jason Alexander and dancer-rapper-actor-whatever Kevin Federline. Before Ms. Spears jumps into another relationship (I mean, you Criss Angel!) and finds herself crying, "Oops, I did it again," she should think about the day when her kids will be old enough to search the Internet. Their mommy will have a lot of explaining to do. On the complete other side of the dating spectrum is Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon.  On the complete other side of the dating spectrum is Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon. Start on your first $1 million at age 16
2007-09-20 07:48:00
It's easier than you think to become a millionaire. The magic combo? Getting an early start saving and having the discipline not to raid the piggy bank.   Here's a simple recipe to become a millionaire: Work four summers, starting at age 16 Save the income in a Roth IRA account Invest it in a simple, low-cost equity portfolio Simmer slowly for 47 years Serve ungarnished (and untaxed) at age 67 This is the first recipe in my new Small Change Million aire Cookbook, an occasional series of columns with a single purpose -- demonstrating different ways small amounts of money can be turned into a large amount of money. Just as a mere 10 calories a day of additional food can pack on a pound a year, small change can become large amounts of money. The good news is that money grows faster than fat. Calories don't have the benefit of compound annual growth. Many people fail to diet because the end goal seems so far away. So it is with saving and i...

Am I Weird If I Date Online?
2007-09-20 04:04:00
True story: A few years back I was working with a client who had recently moved to Los Angeles. She was single, did not know many people in the big city, and felt a little lonely. I innocently suggested she give Millionaire Singles online dating site a shot. It seemed like an easy and pressure-free way to meet people, and I had other clients who enjoyed their experience and were in good relationships as a result. "What kind of desperate person do you think I am?!?" she snapped. She apologized, but explained that she felt "weird" about online dating. This perked my curiosity, so later I asked some of my other clients if they ever tried it. Some only confessed after their faces turned three shades of crimson. Since I am a strong proponent of online dating, I dispel any stigma or embarrassment when I recommend it to my clients. This is what I tell them: For many singles, life moves like Richard Petty around the Talladega Speedway. We change jobs every few years. We relo...

Understanding the "Net Lingo" of Online Dating
2007-09-20 04:00:00
Dating has become easier for everyone due to the emergence and success of online dating websites. You can choose the site that suits you best, look for people who have the features you desire along with common interests and contact them immediately. For example, if you want to meet a millionaire, you should go to Millionaire Cupid. Some dating sites are featuring their own instant messaging for members to instantly communicate with each other. This is a great way to make contact and get excited about a new 'date'. But when you start chatting back and forth, the other person is typing recognizable words along with small clusters of letters here and there. What are they saying? These are considered to be 'Net Lingo' and are commonly used Internet acronyms: 411 - Information AFK - Away from keyboard AISI - As I see it AMBW - All my best wishes ATST - At the same time B4 - Before B4N - Bye for now BBIAF - Be back in a few BBL - Be back later BBN - Bye-bye now BS - ...
