Cedar Point Hawker Center, Johor Bahru
2008-05-27 11:30:00
This food court is one of the oldest around Johor Bahru area. It's located opposite of Pelangi Plaza & and the back of the Omega School. The place has many improvement since my last visit about 6-8 years ago. The canopy was built to have better cover during rain. I was suffer last time because without this! :) The ex-company which I'm service 9 years ago was located at the same row with Omega School. And also equipped with big fans every corner. Environment is cooling.Today I decided to go back there to have my favorite "Char-Koay-Teow" (fried koay-teow). It's one of the famous at JB.Guess what? Disappointed. The standard drop very much!Beside this, there are about 8-10 store over here selling good food easily more that ten years. Curry Fish Head is another delicious food around. We were having some beers until the sun go down....recall all those memories which is more than 10 years ago.......:)Location map will update later......MY TRIPS - Home

ran Queen ran King Taiwan Foods Cafe, Tmn Molek Johor Bahru
2008-05-19 08:24:00
ran King ran Queen Taiwan Cafe located at Jalan Molek 1/8, Taman Molek, J.B. (N1°31.849' E103°47.430')There are many Taiwanese Cafe & Restaurants at Johor Bahru. This is the one we always visit. The lady boss came from South Taiwan (Ping-tong, Tainan). The foods taste are the southern taste and it's different from Taipei. Examples like the Oyster Vermicelli (蚵仔麵線) & the stewed pork rice (魯肉飯) taste are different that I had from Taipei, but.....delicious too!The cafe has simple decorated and comfort. It's crowded during lunch hour and dinner time. You need to queue up to 30 minutes if you are unlucky! :)The best time to visit is before 12pm noon, 3pm tea break & after 7:30pm evening. The shop is open from noon time to 8:30pm.There have full of varieties Taiwanese foods & even the 'Small' Steamboat that you only can see it in this cafe (RM15.00 each). Prices here are reasonable.Another reason I like this cafe is.....they are all family members! Mo...

Unique Ceiling Fan @ Lavender Cake Shop Jusco Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru.
2008-05-15 11:44:00
Found this unique ceiling fan at Lavender Cake & Bistro, Jusco Permas Jaya , Johor Bahru. It turns slow and windless, just for decoration purpose.Feels's simulate the humans process......When it's young, it spins fast but the 'prop' is short (seems like just start to grow...)When it's old, it rotates slow and weak but the 'prop' grew longer......Art? I agree if you said....Another shot with faster shuttle speed while still spinning.....I'm having a tea break with my family. And my daughter also wonder why it's so slow and keep nagging about windless fan.......Anyway, the area it's air-conditioned and nice environment too!MY TRIPS - Home

Tebrau River Cleaning Project, Johor Bahru
2008-05-13 04:10:00
10th May 2008I wasn't aware about this till my brother told me about it. I wondered there's no banner for public awareness. When I rush to the location (where at the back of Bayu Puteri 3 Apartment), the show had over! And I saw the only awareness was a A3 size board standing 1 meter up beside the road??! Only the peoples who stayed around that area will aware of this event.I was told that the public respond was perfect!! Because.......everyone who came, they will enjoy free foods & drinks!! Hmm.....what do you think? The rubbish issue were discussed before on this thread. I am too excited (give a hand too!) because we going to have a clean river around us! End's just because the free foods & drinks attract the public. I manage to snap some photos there......The rubbish still there but the foods & drinks already finished......The last junior groupView of the Tebrau River They took the chances to cruise along the riverThe only Survivor along the river bankThen...

I have my lunch today at one of the food court at Tampoi (beside Giant Hypermart). Just a normal food court, but suddenly I was amaze with the swinging disc (hanging on top of the foods) for chasing away the fly! The disc will non-stop swinging because of the wind from surrounding. What an innovative idea!Without spending a single cent, you can have the same effect like those motorize type.I am thinking that......what if most of us having the same concept and mentality, protecting our 'environment' & green the Earth should not have any problem at all!The designMY TRIPS - Home

You will feel calm & peaceful over here, I just took out my portable chair and find a place below tree.....relax & enjoy the scenery. After a week frustrated work, it's a good idea that you can bring your family for short picnic. Hopefully the local authority will do something here for a 'Clean' and beautiful river bank of Plentong. This river also given a lot of inconvenience to the residents at Plentong during the Flood last year in Johor.
