Galapagos Iguanas back to Baltra
2008-05-01 00:58:00
The island of Baltra in the Galapagos Islands archipelago became populated with land iguanas that had disappeared during the U.S. military occupation in World War II, said on Wednesday the Galapagos National Park.   A total of 420 species of iguanas Conolophus subcristatus or also known as yellow iguanas, one of the world’s most existent endemic species, were reintroduced in Baltra in the last 28 years to live and reproduce in their natural state.   According to The Galapagos National Park, 74 of these reptiles were taken this week to finalize the reproduction agenda in Baltra, held since 1980.   “The goal was to repopulate the island Baltra with endemic iguanas, which, for various reasons, disappeared during the occupation of the island by a U.S. military base in the Second World War”, the Galapagos National Park representatives mentioned.     They noted that the species was saved thanks to a scientific expedition in 1933 that introduced 70 animals on an experim...

Galapagos Islands & Machu Picchu - LatinAmerica4less
2008-04-21 19:10:00
Jay and I recently returned from our trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu and we both agree it is one of the very best trips we have ever taken. We had NO problems, even the weather cooperated. The guides, from both Kelin and Pacifico, were friendly and always on time and we enjoyed each tour immensely. Thank you so much for arranging such a wonderful vacation for us. Donna B. PS. There is only one thing we would have changed in hind sight and that is less time in Lima and more in Galapagos. If we had to be in Lima for two days I would definitely have included a tour in the price on one of those days. We did find things to do but we are not really much into city life. We would be glad to fill out a reference form or whatever your company might need or like from us. Share! Share

Travel to Latin America
2008-04-17 23:49:00
Airline cancellations and a possible slower economy, gas prices and a weak dollar will affect most of US travelers but probably is not the case when traveling to Latin America since it is still a destination that keeps your pockets safe and now that leisure travel has being considered by many like food or rent, an essential cost….. Latin America is the real travel option, lower travel cost compared with Europe and Asia where the dollar goes further and not forgetting that Ecuador as an example has the US dollar as main currency at a lower price.   We will be still concerned about the recession and will make an effort to strictly control our rates offering the best rates on the market with short itineraries and lots of activities and will keep our belief that Latin America is and will stay as a top favorite travel destination, so travel to Latin America and enjoy what it has to offer at a low cost compared to other destinations now, travel to Latin America for less! Latin America travel destinations
2008-04-11 16:49:00
Latin America destinations are not only becoming favorite places among travelers around the world but will become unique. Each destination, each country offers a number of options for each type of passenger and has also a distinct tourist infrastructure to offer. I mention this because we can find quiet places that offer luxury and relaxation within unique environments like for example the Amazon either in Peru, Brazil and Ecuador where we will be able to find luxury lodges where the level of comfort and luxury is unique, natural and superb and will not destroy its environment but will preserve it and also we will be able to find places immersed in the Andes, beaches, islands and deserts where the convenience may not be a luxury but as a destination place is so incredibly beautiful and offers such interaction with nature that shows that travel to Latin America is really a unique experience, lasting and unforgettable. Pre-Inca temple discovered in Peru
2008-03-18 22:16:00
The new archeologist discovery of an ancient temple, roadway and irrigation systems at a famed fortress overlooking the Inca capital of Cuzco in Peru has been for all of us a big surprise and notice. The Sacsayhuaman culture showed that the site had religious as well as military aims, according to researchers and where constructed in the 1100s. Luis Lumbreras, former director of Peru’s National Culture Institute and an expert on Cuzco’s pre-Incan cultures said that the discovery of the temple reveals “the sacred ceremonial nature of the Killke,” and also “Previously we thought Sacsayhuaman was simply a military fortification, but we now see it was a very complex ceremonial center.  This gives us an example of that in Latin America there is still much to discover, to be seen and to be done. Not only we have to be aware that we keep history and protect unique tourist attractions in locations that are distinctive in the world for its biodiversity and abun...

Floreana Island
2008-02-19 15:47:00
Floreana Island  is the least inhabited of the Archipielago and was the first one to be colonized by national and europeans decades ago. There are many legends about this Island written by many people who lived there; novels about their lifes, relationships, and all kind of situations. This   give us an idea that the Galapagos hides stories and secrets that probably will never be revealed but we can read some of them in many novel books like ” Floreana” by Margaret Wittmer, a very interesting one. One favorite tourist attraction is the historical Post Office Bay and places like Asilo de la Paz, Punta Cormoran, Corona del Diablo, Enderby y Gardner Bay. next travel guide> Isabela Island Share! Bariloche
2008-02-15 00:06:00
San Carlos de Bariloche , commonly known as Bariloche, is located in Argentina’s Patagonia, on the the southern coast of Nahuel Huapi Lake, a 2 hour flight from Buenos Aires. Bariloche, is a prime, all-season destination in Argentina’s Patagonia. Summer sailing on Lake Nahuel Huapi, skiing, the lake crossing from Chile and a decidedly European ski chalet environment make Bariloche a favorite vacation spot. We can describe this city as  a “Deep blue lakes, towering mountains, glaciers, climbing, boating, exploring, dining and just full relaxing make this an incomparable vacation destination. The scenery alone leaves most people breathless!.” Opportunities for adventure are abundant. Even if you’re not much of an adventurer, you’ll still find plenty of pleasant sightseeing tours, boat trips, boutiques, driving excursions, and fine dining to keep you busy. Or just park yourself wherever the view is good and soak it all in.   Share! Share

Talking about the weather; December trough May is sunny and warm and during the months of June to November, it is colder and drier. Well, its location is something that many of our tourists ask, it is 600 miles West off the Ecuadorian Coast so you will definitely have to fly there. Two main airports serve local airlines in the Island of Baltra and in San Cristobal Island. The price of the roundtrip flight for foreigners is aboout 410.00 US dollars from Quito and 360.00 US dollars from Guayaquil. The Marine Reserve The Interior waters of the Islands , plus those within 40 nautical miles measured from the baseline of the Archipielago, were declared the Galapagos Marine Reserve on 1994. This is the only protected coastal marine area in the East Pacific and the second largest Marine Reserve in the World. There are many areas with small submarine volcanoes, which are important feeding zones for marine birds and mammals. Snorkeling with sea lions, penguins and a variety of colorful fish an...
