2007-07-21 00:35:00 WESTERN NEW YORK: Cyclists will 'Loop the Lake for Charity'July 20, 2007 [Diocese of Western New York] On August 4, St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jamestown, New York, will sponsor Loop the Lake, the parish's 6th annual recreational bicycle ride to benefit Episcopal Community Services of Western New York. The Loop's route around Lake Chautauqua encompasses 43 scenic miles. There is no cost to ride; however, all registrants are asked to obtain sponsors. Proceeds from sponsorships will be donated to Episcopal Community Services, which through its 15 member agencies provides food, shelter, counseling and other services to western New Yorkers in need. Loop the Lake riders receive a free t-shirt, free water and snacks during the ride, and a free lunch at the end. "The most important benefit," says the Rev.
