The girl actually started to run because it is not good to miss a train that close to midnight. I did my running about 30 minutes and 15 stations before.

One of a few McDonald's in Prague with Drive-in - which is on the opposite side (as well as the gas station). I worked here for a while. Have a few funny stories, too. And hence I like McDonald's. Isn't it weird? :)

Zborovska street. There was a high school in Zborovska street called Zborovska high school specialized in math and science. It was well known in Prague, their students won a lot of prizes and a lot of my class mates went there after elementary school. They got a new name few years ago and I don't think they are doing as well as they were used to now.By the way, Czech name for "high school" is "gymnasium" which, of course, means something different in English. Please, be kind if we use it wrong :)

If grocery is a shop where you buy groceries do you buy beads in a beadery then? Otherwise I can't find out a good translation for their name Koralkarna (which is actually playfully funny in Czech).This came up in my mind immediately :)

And yes, it's a brew house. Left side as well as the right side. Smichov is known for Staropramen beer. They even have a "beer emergency" here :)

One more day with cars in Prague 's streets. This is close to Narodni trida street. There's a school for publicists in the entrance on the right and a secondhand bookshop on the left. And the car is from Austria - based on the licence plate.

At the corner with Vodickova street there is U Purkmistra restaurant. It is not obvious on the small picture - just click on it to see it bigger - but the restaurant has the same front grill as that Mercedes . See? :)

Well, you kind of can't see it on this black and white picture but the Porsche was absolutely green. And I'm talking #0F0 green (for those of you who do some web coding :)The street is called Rytirska and there's a lot of good and popular cafes.

V Jame street connects two big streets leading to Wenceslas square: Vodickova and Stepanska street. Interesting thing in this street is The Icon Hotel . Just look at its webpage to see how beautiful it is :)

Dinosaur at Palladium shopping center

There were dinosaurs in Palladium. But I'd like to tell you something different. See the Coffeeheaven shop? It's a Central European answer to Starbucks. And you know what, we're getting the first Starbucks in Prague now. It'll be under Prague castle, near Charles bridge. Really a great location. They are planning the second shop for summer I think. It is going to be close to this Coffeeheaven - also in Palladium shopping center.

Continuing of the New Year's Eve quest. This is Old Town square's music stage. 4 hours 15 minutes before New Year. I know the music band playing was a famous one and a good one, too :) But I really can't remember which one. Just ran through the crowd singing their song.

This is Wenceslas square 4 hours and 25 minutes before New Year. The two big screens showed what was going on the main stage. And all of that was also broadcast live on our biggest commercial television Nova.

Chair, snow and Old town square

(You might use some imagination on this one. Or click on the picture to see it a little bigger.)This is Old town square and in the middle under the lamp is the snow. And on the snow is a chair with a view :) Only thing is that it is occupied almost all the time. Everybody wants a picture while sitting here :) I guess the snow is mostly gone by now.

Facing St. Longin (with snow)

From the days we had snow in Prague. This is at a playground of a nearby school facing a rotunda/church of St. Longin from the 12th century. It might not be so comfy with that snow. But if you do want to sit on snow, there's even a better place. I'll show you tomorrow :)

Manes and Dancing house

Manes tower on the left, Dancing house on the right (the one with a ball on the roof). If I remember it right our former president Vaclav Havel lived in this street before our velvet revolution and the state police was looking into his flat from the tower to see who visits him and what they are doing. The "watching place" is still inside it although devastated. As is the whole tower. It needs restoration very badly.
