November in Buenos Aires, Jacarandás in bloom

It is November , spring is here, and the city of Buenos Aires is full of lavender clouds of jacaranda trees in bloom. They are all over the city, making this time of the year a special one to admire these beautiful trees.The first specimen of jacarandá, original from the North-west of Argentina, was planted in Buenos Aires in 1875 with the inauguration of the 3 de Febrero Park, and then it was spread all over the city for its ornamental value in the different plantation programs.Those of you who visit Buenos Aires in November will be lucky to witness this beautiful natural spectacle, and for those who can´t visit, here are some pictures:

I went to see yesterday´s matches at Palermo. It was a wondeful day, with a mild rain just before the second match, but at the end of the first chukker the sky opend and the sun was shining again.On the first match, Ellerstina beat Santa Maria 21-10, and in the second one, Chapa II beat La Aguada 15-14 in the extra time in an exciting ending.There were plenty of seats available at the ticket box office on Libertador Ave.Click here for final results.
