Places to Visit on a Hot Summer Day
2006-08-06 20:12:08 It has been a heatwave in Scotland for the last few days, except that is in Fife where I live, and I have to admitt I was grateful for the cooler weather conditions yesterday as my three dogs were getting hot and bothered and so was I. So yesterday it was off to the beach, and around Fife we have a number of great beaches, many with miles of clean sandy and generally empty beaches. In this case we chose to go to Tentsmuir Forest and the miles of clean sandy beach that is part of the Forestry Commission land. When you arrive at Tentsmuir you do need to pay £1 for car parking and this is to help keep the roads and other maintenance paid for. At the car park is an area designated for barbeques, as you can imagine it is not sensible to allow barbeques in a forest so you are only allowed to light up in the area set aside for this. Barbeques are also not allowed on the beach, for a very simple reason - people do not clean up after they leave. I was dissapointed to notice some rubbish had ... Visit Scotland.com Spam?
2006-08-06 20:12:08 Normally I don’t mention Visi t Scotland , yet recently they are starting to annoy me and while this is probably poetic justice I just wonder what they are exactly up to. Let me explain. Visit Scotland is meant to be the flagship website for all of Scotland, it is supposed to sell Scotland to Scot’s as well as everyone else on the planet. It has in the past done this well. So what has changed, well the Visit Scotland website is now a privately owned commercial company and as such their sole aim is to make money for the company, not necessarily represent the thousands of small to medium tourist businesses that make up Scottish Tourism. So what, making money is well one of the great things in life and we all need to do it to be able to pay the morgage and put food on the table. It is fine except the methods used by the Visit Scotland website is now verging on Spam , let me explain. At one time Visit Scotland had several websites, each website represented an area in Scotland, ... More About: Land
Great Restaurant in Perth, Scotland, Pacos.
2006-08-06 20:12:08 It was my 9th wedding anniversary today and guess what, yes I forgot. I woke up with my wife presenting me with a smile, an anniversary card and that look ? you have forgotten haven?t you. Guilty as charged. Now normally this would lead to world war IV (the reason for the 4 is that we have already had the third world war as I have already forgotten birthday?s in the past!) So what has made my life survivable, simple really I offered to take her to one of the best restaurants in Scotland , namely Pacos. Pacos provides great food at a great price and yes there are far more expensive restaurants in Perth, I for one would not change them for Pacos. Need I say more, I?m alive and in one piece due to the great chef?s and great food in the best restaurant in Perth, Perth Scotland that is, not Perth Australia. One last thing, they are always looking for happy, helpful people to help out and you can see their job page. Visit the Pacos website for details and location, and the menu. Highland Games in Scotland
2006-08-06 20:12:08 Scotland is famous for … many things including the High land Game s . Many towns and villages have their own games and this is usually a day worth putting in the calendar. I snapped off a couple of pictures of Newburgh Highland Games that was held on Sat 17th June, this year. Link to a larger image of the Newburgh Highland Games Highland Band picture. St Andrews
2006-08-06 20:12:08 St Andre ws is famous for golf, for it’s University as well as the historic town and cathedral. A few weeks ago we went for a walk along the fantastic sandy beach at St Andrew s and nearly found it more dangerous than walking in the streets of London. Only joking, below you can see why. More articles from this author:2006-08-06 20:12:08 Another hot steamy night in Scotland and I can’t sleep due to the heat so what better than updating my blog on what I have been up to with my website developments. A few weeks ago I signed up for a week using wordtracker, wordtracker provides one of the best (I think it is the best) set of SEO analysis tools. In a few words the online tools provides you with detailed analysis of the words that people use to search for a specific topic. Yesterday I paid for another couple of days and it really makes you think. What I mean is there is thousands of people making websites on Scotland and only a few sites get visited enough to make it pay, unless it is a hobby site. So why is this post titled Scotland Maps ? simple really, I discovered that people search for Scotland maps at this time of year more than any other “keyword”, well the word “Scotland” is used most often however it is extremely difficult to get your website listed in page 1 of a Google search retu...
