This year The Mallorcan Cuisine Fair (Mostra de Cuina Mallorquina) opens from the 8 th to the 17 th of May, and this year is celebrated in The Palma Arena.One year more and this is the 22nd the Mallorca cuisine fair is opened. From the 8th of March to the 17th of March. The bad part of the fair, is that you have to go to the fair trade center, but the good thing about it is that you will enjoy all the mallorcan food avaliable. The best restaurants of the island go there to delight the visitors with great food. The new thing this year, is the show-cooking, that this year, will have 20 cooks, every one of them will make a dish, this will start at 15:00 and 21.00The admision will be 4 euros. Also know that outside of the fair, you will be able to get the green card, with this card you can get discounts on the fair. This fair, is for restaurants, but there is going to be also four hotel and three cooking schools. There will be seven deserts and a total of nine wine makers.http://www.fir...

Llorenc Cerda

Llorenc Cerda, died in the year 1955 and became predilect son of Pollensa. Llorenc Cerda was boss of the School of Arts of Mallorca, his teacher was the famous Sorolla. He studied with scholarship in Madrid and Rome, he was awarded with the silver medal of The Universal Exposition of Barcelona in the year 1888 after that he came back to Mallorca where he was from.When he arrived to Mallorca he started painting landscapes the way Sorolla did. His paintings are in Lluch and Valldemossa, some paintings are in The Fomento de Turismo and The Consell de Mallorca. His style is used still by many painters. He had his studio in street Sol

After thirty years of years of tourism the touris have bought houses, there was always the question of if the mallorquin society was going to dissapear as comunity, given that now the mallorquin, are only 20 per cent of the population.Lately in the local newspaper there was an interview to a policeman that sait that only 25 years ago in a small town in Mallorca, you could leave the door in the lock.After so many years of tourism we can say that has afected more the globalization than the tourism to the comunity.

Was the first Cofradia in Palma we know for sure that in 1554 there was already a procession in Palma for the Holy Thursday, and The Christ of La Sang, was walked in procession, like now. This image is the most beloved image in Mallorca, and only goes out of its church this day. Some years ago, the image, had to be restored, because a mental disabled person detroyed it.
