I can't believe there is no control over this type of demolition and construction in the area, as well as in many other neighborhoods of the city. Boutech (gadgets & cases) is located where Esther Hers used to be. 2007-10-31 02:38:00 I haven’t got my camera repaired yet but at least there is good news: it seems that Canon is paying for the repair. In the meanwhile, I’m posting some pictures I took in the past months. The house covered with ivy is on Honduras St. The other photo was taken on Nicaragua St. I hope these buildings will survive the construction boom.*TodavÃa no recuperé mi cámara pero la buena noticia es que parece que Canon se hace cargo del arreglo. Mientras tanto, coloco aquà un par de fotos que tomé hace unos meses. La casa cubierta con hiedra está en la calle Honduras. La otra foto fue tomada en la calle Nicaragua. I found out that one of this shoes store owners is the Argentine actor Mariano Martínez. Talking about actors, I visited Natalia Oreiro ?s shop last Sunday. It was interesting to see how people were nosing around even in the changing rooms.*Hace unos meses observé el frente e interior de este local de zapatos sobre la calle Gurruchaga. I shared my blogging experience with more than 60 attendants, including a 5th grade class from a local school. It?s really good to know that teachers are starting to use blogs as a learning tool in primary schools here in Argentina. I also got a very nice message (copied at the bottom of this post ? in Spanish) from one of the attendants, Martín, an engineer. 2007-10-12 01:48:00 While I?m waiting for my camera to be fixed, Karina, a neighbor of Palermo Viejo, let me share with you her photos posted on Flickr.The first one is a view of Costa Rica St. from the Plaza Palermo Viejo. The second one is on Plazoleta Cortázar, typical spot for taking a picture with the mural and having a drink. The third picture is a snap of a house located on Armenia St. You can notice how the garage or a room turned into a shop. This is very common nowadays. Then we can see neighbors talking on the street. If I?m not wrong this is at the front of a restaurant located on El Salvador St. Finally, there is a cool looking apartment and a house with wild ivy. 2007-10-06 04:55:00 Last Sunday I went to La Boca. I took more than 50 photographs for my blog Amazing Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, when I downloaded them, I realized that my camera was not working at all and none of the pictures had been saved :( I thought there was a problem with the LCD screen, but apparently it was a failure at the CCD sensor. So now, I have to wait until I have it fixed, in about 45 days, if that was really the cause of the malfunction. As I won?t be taking pictures in a while, let?s sneak peek at some of Flickr?s photos. Here are some nice photographs that I found about Palermo Viejo and belong to *pele*/ Graciela Blaum. 2007-09-07 13:43:00 Tucci closed while Ayres is opening its store soon on El Salvador and Malabia.The British coffee chain Aroma joined Argentine top ice cream?s business, Freddo, in a relaxed ambiance on Armenia and Honduras St. You can eat a sandwich, drink a coffee and have an ice cream there or take it away and enjoy it while you continue strolling along the streets of Palermo Viejo. The place has a terrace for smokers. You can pick a variety of sandwiches such as tuna, chicken, salmon, croque monsiuer and meat. Prices range between $9 and $14 (pesos). Coffee is very good.There is also a couple of new stores next to it. In one of them, you can get Swatch and other labels?s watches. Real state agencies are trying to impose other marketing related names to other neighborhoods, such as ?Palermo Queens? to Villa Crespo. I don?t agree and most people I know don't agree neither. What about you? By the way, this link has nice murals of Villa Crespo. * La Nación publicó hoy un artículo que presenta al barrio como marca líder dentro de los 100 barrios porteños. Aquí está el link. Resulta que ahora las inmobiliarias quieren bautizar a otros barrios de la ciudad con nombres más marketineros como, por ejemplo, Palermo Queens para Villa Crespo. Ya es demasiado.
