2007-04-20 03:56:00 Decided to go back to a more conventional blog frontpage. Been wanting to do this for ages. I moved the Notes Small Print (edit: renamed the Small Prints category to 'Notes' as this works better with the current layout) categories from the sidebar back into the main area, using Matt's Asides if anyone's interested. I think it's better to keep all the content together and not spread it out so much. It's simpler that way and that's quite often better. Then, obviously the Recent Readers and Recent Comments had to go into the sidebar. I think the way it's set up now makes it also easier for people to comment. I'm quite happy with the result. What do you think? By the way, not even 4 weeks left anymore!!! Habe mich dazu entschlossen zu einer eher konventionellen Blog Startseite zurückzugehen. Wollte das schon lang mal machen. That Perfect Hammock
2007-04-16 11:37:00 For some travelers it can be quite a hassle getting that hammock up there, getting it to stay up there and getting it down again. So first you need two pole-like things. The wider apart they are and the higher you can tie the ropes, the comfier it will be. The hammock should hang about 60 cm above the ground. Finally the best knot for this is the bowline. This knot is easy to learn and even easier to untie, as it will not jam up. Für einige Reisende kann es ziemlich nervig sein ihre Hängematte aufzuhängen und sicher zu gehen, dass sie oben bleibt und man sie wieder runter bekommt. Als erstes muss man sich zwei pfosten-artige Dinger suchen. Je weiter sie von einander entfernt sind und je höher man die Seile befestigen kann, desto bequemer wird sie sein. 2007-04-11 19:08:00 Not long now!! Time started to really slow down at work, so I taught Shithead to some of my colleagues. This cardgame is virtually unknown in Germany but now it's spreading, kind of like the Plague, but in a good way. If you're flying out of Munich Airport (that's where I work), you might experience some delays because of it.Soon I'll have to hand in my notice as well, which I'm really looking forward to... Nicht mehr lange!! Die Zeit verging immer langsamer auf der Arbeit, also hab ich ein paar Kollegen Shithead beigebracht. Dieses Kartenspiel ist hier ja fast unbekannt, aber jetzt breitet es sich aus, ein bisschen wie die Plage, nur auf eine gute Weise. Wenn Du vom Flughafen München (da arbeite ich) abfliegst, dann kann es deswegen zu Verspätungen kommen.Bald muss ich auch meine Kündigung einreichen, worauf ich mich schon freue... But obviously I was wrong. When friends and I were invited to dinner by a really nice balinese friend of my boss at Dive Indonesia, we jumped at the opportunity and I can tell you, it was absolutely delicious. Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass ich auf Lombok, da es ja muslimisch ist, ein Schweine Steak oder gar ein im ganzen geröstetes Schwein bekommen könnte. Aber da lag ich wohl falsch. Als Freunde und ich von einem netten balinesischen Freund von meinem Boss von Dive Indonesia zum Essen eingeladen wurden, haben wir uns das nicht entgehen lassen. Es war einfach nur köstlich.
