White Zombie and Carnival of Souls
2007-10-24 00:00:00
For your (dis)pleasure I present to you, two classic horror films. Ironically both were choices for Rob Zombie 's bands name, before he went with White Zombie. White Zombie (1932) is an American horror film, first released on August 4, 1932. It is believed to be the first film to deal with zombies and is indeed often described as the first zombie film. The film was produced independently by minor silent film makers Edward Halperin and Victor Halperin, from a script by Garnett Weston. Victor Halperin directed. It was picked up for distribution by United Artists.Sherman S. Krellberg financed most of the production of the film through his Amusement Securities Corp., using the film rights as collateral. When the Halperins were unable to repay the loan in a timely manner, Krellberg took over the rights and, after its initial run was finished, periodically reissued the film through minor distributors, the last time being in 1972. Plot The script by Garnett Weston features a young coup...

The Screaming Skull
2007-10-24 00:00:00
The Moon Books Project feels the only safe way to make this film available is to quote the studio's warning, and offer from the beginning of the film itself."The Screaming Skull is a motion picture that reaches its climax in shocking horror. Its impact is so terrifying that it may have an unforeseen effect. It may kill you! therefore the producers feel it necessery to provide free burial services to anyone who dies of fright, while seeing the screaming skull!"Download The Screaming Skull here: [link]

Dementium: The Ward
2007-10-20 00:00:00
Dementium The Ward looks like an excellent title. It is a survival horror game, along the lines of Resident Evil, but it uses a more intuitive control scheme. In an interview with the developer it is mentioned that Dementium is controlled more like Metroid than Resident Evil. Another point on Dementium's side is the fact that is has been developed with the Nintendo DS as it's home console from the beginning. Here is the official blurb describing Dementium."Dementium: The Ward combines action-adventure, first-person shooter and survival horror into one nightmarish experience. Pushing the limits of the Nintendo DS with full 3D visuals, this "next generation" title will set the bar for mature handheld games. Dementium tells the tale of a man who awakens to find himself alone, with no memories of his past, in a mysterious, derelict hospital that is frozen in time. Confronted by the deadly, grotesque surgical experiments that wander the halls, a series of challenging puzzles and a cast ...

Atom Age Vampire
2007-10-17 00:00:00
Atom Age Vampire (original title Seddok, l'erede di Satana) is a 1963 black-and-white Italian horror/science fiction film directed by Anton Giulio Majano and starring Alberto Lupo.Despite the implication of its American title, the film appears to have no direct connection with the "atom age" of the early 1960s. The title was apparently chosen to indicate to potential audiences the modern-day time period of the story. When a singer (Susanne Loret) is horribly disfigured in a car accident, a scientist (Alberto Lupo) develops a treatment which can restore her beauty by injecting her with the glands of a murdered woman. While performing the procedure, however, he falls in love with her.Download Atom Age Vampire here: [link]

House on Haunted Hill
2007-10-15 00:00:00
House on Haunted Hill (1959) is a horror film directed by William Castle, written by Robb White, and starring Vincent Price as eccentric millionaire Fredrick Loren. He and his fourth wife, Annabelle, have invited five people to the house for a "Haunted House" party. Whoever stays in the house for one night will earn ten thousand dollars. As the night progresses, all the guests are trapped inside the house with ghosts, murderers, and other terrors. Style In retrospect, the film's style is similar to the E.C. comic books of the era, such as Tales from the Crypt, and features elements of campy humor. The theatrical trailer promoted the film as The House on Haunted Hill, although all advertising material, and the title on the film itself were simply titled House on Haunted Hill. The film is best known for a famous promotional gimmick used in the film's original theatrical release called "Emergo": William Castle placed an elaborate pulley system in some theaters showing the film; all...

My letter to Nintendo
2007-10-12 00:00:00
I recently wrote a letter to Nintendo , hopefully it will reach someone who can make use of the information found within. If anyone knows anyone at Nintendo, or any other licensed Nintendo DS developer, please copy and paste this email to them.Hello,Let me preface this with a request. If this has been sent to the wrong person, please forward it to whomever would find the information therein useful.I just began a project to bring classic literature to the Nintendo DS. Using MoonShell, a ?homebrew? application and reformatting various books which are in the public domain I am building a virtual library for other classic literature and Nintendo DS enthusiasts to enjoy.Unfortunately, I imagine that Nintendo probably isn?t very fond of ?homebrew? development, as it potentially opens a door for piracy.I am hoping with this MoonBooks project, a licensed Nintendo developer, or Nintendo themselves will see the benefit of an etext/ebook/plain text viewer for the Nintendo DS. Welcome to The Ed Wood appreciation festival at The Moon Books Project!
2007-10-12 00:00:00
We at The Moon Books Project are fans of the little guy. Be it the homebrew software developer writing code for their own, and others enjoyment, the independent film maker pursuing their craft, or the writer putting pen to paper (finger to keyboard) to create stories we can all enjoy. We have decided to declair this weekend Ed Wood appreciation weekend at The Moon Books Project. We have made three Ed Wood films available, and also created a forum for discussing Ed Wood, film making, or even just the movies themselves, which are open to non-members and members alike. So, please take some time to follow your dreams. Ed Wood followed his dreams, and even though his movies are among some of the most horrendous (so bad they are good) at least he pursued his passions. So in honor of Ed Wood, The Moon Books Project has made three of his films available, for watching on the Nintendo DS. Two of these three are 'classics'. Glen or Glenda is a semi-autobiographical film, and Plan 9 From Outer ...

Film releases: Reefer Madness, Long John Silver, and Moe!
2007-10-12 00:00:00
It's a busy night for releases tonight. First, and actually least (in file size) is a Three Stooges classic: Disorder in the Court. This needs no explanation I'm sure...I submit for your approval, Reefer Madness and Long John Silver . Long John Silver in particular is an interesting choice for tonight, as it's the sequel to Treasure Island, which we released in book form earlier tonight. Also released for your enjoyment is Reefer Madness. Wikipedia says it best, so I'll cut and paste:Reefer Madness is a 1936 propaganda film revolving around the tragic events that follow when high school students are lured by pushers to try "marihuana": a hit and run accident, manslaughter, suicide, rape, and descent into madness all ensue. The film was directed by Louis Gasnier and starred a cast composed of mostly unknown bit actors. It was originally financed by a church group and made under the title Tell Your Children. The film was intended to be shown to parents as a morality tale attempting t...

Acekard R.P.G Review
2007-10-12 00:00:00
Acekard R.P.G Review bysasuke_kun12 The Acekard Real Play Gear is Acekard's 3rd attempt at the slot-1market. The R.P.G contains both NAND flash internal memory (such asthe G6 Real) as well as a MicroSD slot. As the name suggests, theR.P.G is targeted more at the gamers, but the R.P.G is a powerful cardfor multimedia purposes. The cart build is quite strong and theplastic that is used is top grade, so you can expect to dish out thepunishment while it takes it all in. The R.P.G currently sits on topof the Flashcart hierarchy, sharing the same tier and price range asit's rival the CycloDS. What really makes this flashcart more thensuitable for the multimedia users is the fact that it supportsMicroSDHC up to 32 gigabyte. Thats more then 4000 songs and 100movies! You can have all your music and movies all in one smalldevice, and whats great about dual storage is that you can have allyour homebrew applications in the NAND flash and all your media onyour SD.Although it sounds rather tempt...
EZ V Review
2007-10-12 00:00:00
EZ V Review bysasuke_kun12 The EZ V is the EZ Flash team's first attempt at the Slot-1 Market. The EZ V takes MicroSD's up to 2 gigabyte and the loader is built uponthe very famous Moonshell. When compared to other flashcarts, thebuild of the cart is inferior compared to others such as the AcekardR.P.G and the Supercard DS 1. Unlike the R4/M3 Simply, the MicroSDslot is not located on the top, but is placed on the side. This is aslight inconvenience if you find yourself always taking out yourflashcart and updating your MicroSD. The good thing about the MicroSDslot though is that it is not spring loaded. Although this does soundlike a let down, you won't experience spring breakdowns in the first 3months of use like the R4.On the software side of things, once you have acquired the EZ V, youmust download the shell folder in order for the flashcart to work, butdon't think that this is a downside. Mostly all flashcarts requirethis. Once you've downloaded the shell, you will be greeted ...
