GTA IV - Multiplayer Options
2008-04-16 15:20:00 As mentioned by Frumper on another website, some details of GTA IV’s multiplayer modes are finally creeping out. They include: Team Deathmatch: A straight-up shootout (and presumably hitandrunout) where the team with the most cash at the end of the round wins. For between two and eight teams. Team Mafiya Work: Each team is carrying out contract work for the mob - escorting wanted men, boosting cars, picking up MacGuffins, and the idea is to amass the most cash from completed contracts. Again for 2-8 teams. Team Car Jack City: Cars spawn around the city and have to be picked up and taken to a drop-off. Again, the most money wins, but you can boost your total by finding cars with drugs stashed in them. 2-8 teams. Cops n’ Crooks: In this one, one team plays as Cops and the other team as Crooks. The Crooks are out to escape from the Cops - in the sub-mode All For One, their job is to escort their Boss to safety, while in One For All they need to gather themselves into a get... New Ghost Recon coming soon?
2008-03-29 11:55:00 If you are bored and you like the viral hype that surronds video games, head over to the Ghost Recon Ubi website for some action. If you wait for a few seconds, a giant Flash overlay will load and after some clicking around, there is some video and audio footage of troops in the field. The content has no bearing on anything and makes no sense. It has obviously been well produced, which suggests that it must be for some specific reason, like a new upcoming Ghost Recon game? Like Ghost Recon 3 maybe? I have to say I really enjoyed the first installment, GR:AW. The second, from what I've read and been told, was more an expansion pack than anything else. Also, the Multiplayer has also been a litle disappointing on GR:AW which is a shame, as I would prefer it to Vegas to be honest. Let's hope then, that should this be some viral hype for a new Ghost Recon game that it is more than an expansion pack this time around. Army of Two getting a Demo

Revamp needed for Achievements?
2008-03-27 15:58:00 What with the recent XBOX Live Cheaters crackdown, are we left with questions over the future of Achievement points? Gaming Nexus has a good article debating the system, and pnders: Eliminate or drastically reduce the amount of online and multi-player achievements ...... I know from personal experience and having read in forums, people are complaining (the latest is Rainbow Six:Vegas 2) that they are booted from public matches because it is controlled by a group of people that are only trying to boost their Gamerscore. You eliminate the boosters from public games, and it will create a much better matchmaking and public game environment. Interesting.

Achievement cheaters getting hit, hard
2008-03-25 14:47:00 Major Nelson has some details of what will happen to those found hacking their achievement score; Resetting the entire Gamerscore for an account to zero The account will be unable to regain all previously obtained achievements and Gamerscore, however, the players will have the ability to gain future Achievement s by earning them fairly, like the majority of the Xbox LIVE community does.
