It sounds quite interesting, here are a couple of key points: There have been lots of challenges along the way: we’ve rewritten our car damage system to ensure it’s still the best in the world; we needed to improve our car rendering to display 20 cars on track (which is double the biggest race in DiRT); we had to implement a dynamic 24 hour day-to-night cycle for Le Mans; and we had to look at our particle engine to make sure that we could generate enough tyre smoke to make drift look realistic We’re aiming for 12-player races over LIVE we’re just designing the content for a demo. We’ll offer a taste of something from each of the three continents Excited yet?Â

EA and Maxis announced today that the anticipated game Spore will be available for the PC, Mac, Nintendo DS and mobile phones on September 7. Spore is described as your own personal universe in a box. report I4U News. Spore is developed by the guy that bought you The Sims. This game though takes you from a lonley cell right up the evolution ladder to a fully fledged universe. It is being billed as one of the most advantages games to date, but will not be gracing itself onto the console format.Â
Microsoft developing their next Xbox?
2008-02-13 15:37:00 Kombo.com have a good article about the current console market and how things could develop. One of the articles points covers how some first party developers are apparently delaying some titles from release so that they can be released on the next-next gen console. This happened on the original Xbox , with games like Kameo and Perfect Dark, being pushed into the next gen world. Surely MS arn't going to be killing off the X360 anytime soon. More About: Microsoft

Oh no it's Treyarch!!!
2008-02-11 19:40:00 Treyarch, the development team behind Call of Duty 3, recently put up a job listing for a Call of Duty level designer, presumably for the fifth game in the series (which Treyarch is reportedly working on). However, a bit of text in the listing may reveal the direction which Treyarch is taking Call of Duty 5 -- and from the looks of things, that direction is backwards. The listing says that applicants would be well-served by being "a fan of World War II shooters," causing some to believe that the game will take place during the WWII era. It's a shame because I'm really enjoying the "Arab based" wars. The Modern guns are so much more fun than the old boring, "Cant hit a barn door ones". But as long as they don't take a step back with the game play and graphic's, It should be all good. Prehaps Infinty Ward are concentrating on Call of Duty 6????

Activision's Announce COD 5!!
2008-02-08 19:37:00                       I was checking out Gamespot and came across there future game  line up & one of the major announcements is a NEW CALL OF DUTY!!!! READ ON!! "Activision confirms new Call of Duty" New titles will be coming in the Call of Duty franchises, along with additional downloadable content for the current Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Although there was no word on whether the next Call of Duty would be once again set in the modern day or taking the game back to its roots, Activision did confirm that a new sequel in the franchise was coming, and that it would also be coming to the PlayStation 2 and the Wii this time round although full details were kept under wraps.  WELL I CANT WAIT!!! Some small Burnout facts
2008-02-08 12:23:00 Recently I've been listening to the Criterion CrashFM podcast. This is basically the developers reading out emails and letters and responding to them. I forgot Criterion where a British team, so it's quite funny hearing them chirp on abour Portsmouth United FC :D Anyway - a couple of things I've learnt that I thought I would share. One thing that has bugged me a little is that when you start a race and you know you've lost it for sure, it's been a pain to have to keep driving just to come last, as it seems there is no obvious way to end an event early. There is a way though it seems. Just stop the car and wait for abour 3 - 4 seconds. This will not only end a race, but a takedown and a stunt run. As soon as you have reached the target takedown, you can just stop your car to end the event :D The other minor point is ... that on a marked man event, the cars trying to get you CAN NOT go along a shortcut route. Although it doesn't really show anything that looks grounbreakingly new, it does have a couple of classic style features.One being the capture the Satellite game mode from the original XBOX Rainbow Six . Remember that one? When you have to turn a satellite green or red? When I saw it in the video, it reminded me instantly of the SNIP Video s and of Eddie blowing him self up :D Anyway, enjoy the video .....

Burnout Paradise DLC open to everyone, if you have a hard drive that is
2008-02-07 11:07:00 In my recent post about BO: Paradise needing a hard drive for full online play, the story takes a new twist. MTV Multiplayer have posted about both EA and Criterion talking about upcoming DLC for the title. They state that they want gamers to be able to "see" any new content online whether they have paid for it or not. This would stop any problems of online gamers not being able to play together because some people choose not to pay for the DLC, They also clam that the DLC will be both free and paid for. Surely this is nothing new, as in PGR 3 an update give the car models to players allowing them to see the cars even if they had not bought them. Of course form a cynical point of view, being able to see the content also acts as a pretty good advert for the content. Imagine having some extra fast tough car that is on DLC and that keeps taking you down. Would you be tempted to then have to buy it? Burnout Paradise needs a HDD
2008-02-06 20:15:00 Whilst playing BO: Paradise online with DX yesterday I unlocked an achievemnt called Criterion Fever. On checking the achievement list I was directed to Criterions website for more details. During this trip I encountered two things that i didn't know - one was trivial while the other was quite interesting. Trivial first. The Criterion Achievement is one of those viral infections, from their website: Criterion Fever (Xbox 360 only): Everyone at Criterion Games is infected with a virus. The virus is passed when those with it are taken down online, and from there it just spreads... You will unlock this achievement when you get infected Now I unlocked this when I crashed into DX and took him down. So does that mean he was infected or I was potentially infected? Not sure. Now the interesting fact. By Criterions own admission in order to get the full on live gaming experience, you MUST have a hard drive. Any CORE users will get a reduced on live experience. Major "Larry Hryb" Nelson aired the news on his blog, confirming a similar (but relative) 50-dollar drop in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Now this will stun some people, but whilst watching the news last night I found out for the first time, that the man cannot speak English! Call me wrong - but this minor fact disappointed me. Why? Don't know - I just assumed he could speak English. Just seems a bit of a downer that there is not even an English manager that could do the job, but the man who is cannot even speak English.
