China crackdown to make gold farmers extinct?

China is cracking down on "undesirable" online gaming activity. The rapid increase in online gaming in China is making the government uneasy. Negative press about obsessive gamers dying in Internet cafes or addicted players neglecting work or other duties is giving the country a poor reputation. With the government focused on games such as World of Warcraft will the Chinese gold farmer become extinct? Most importantly who's gonna supply me with my crafting materials when I'm too lazy to farm it myself?There have been documentaries about Chinese gold farmers from the casual group of friends who enjoy an evening of fun to the sweat shops which are fueled by money from the west. But why is the Chinese gold farmer much more prevalent than say ... a Russian gold farmer or even an Indian gold farmer? Skyguard, Skettis, daily quests

Finally got the Gladiator gear, debating whether I really want to spend the time getting the 3 pieces of Vindicator gear (bracers, boots, belt) at 17k honor each.So here's my routine: do the daily pvp BG quest, maybe do a couple of premade AV's, do the daily cooking quest, do the daily Skettis quest, maybe do a couple of quests in Shadowmoon (or another zone), do some herbing for the AH.The Skettis bombing egg quest is really easy, if you can avoid the birds. The cooking quest is also easy sometimes can be completed while doing the Skettis quest.Up over 1000 gold again, the tomes for conjure food and water a distant memory. I wanted to do the daily Skyguard quest but then I realized I need to get reputation before I can do the daily in blade's edge. Suggestions for other daily's? That are easy to complete?Also in doing these left over quests I'm debating whether it's a good idea or not. I mean once the next expansion debuts completing these quests will give me easy xp, instead...

I got something for myself over the holidays. New speakers. I was getting tired of listening to everything through my Dell laptop speakers. Not to diss the built in speakers. They are excellent by laptop standards. More than adequate I just wanted a bit more.Enter Logitech X-140 two piece speakers. Why not a 3 piece system? Well I don't really have the space as well I have an old 4.1 system which I can use as a 2.1 system and I really just wanted some new speakers anyways. BG BG BG and a bit more BG

BG (battlegrounds)! *sigh* Lots of Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Eye of the Storm. All to get enough honor to buy my Gladiator gear, which by the way doesn't look all that hot.Gladiator's Regalia Mage Armor SetIMHO, Warlord's Regalia (lvl 60) looks much better, but you can't beat the stamina bonuses for the Gladiator gear.I've got the head piece, shoulders, and gloves. I just need to get the chest and leg armor. Then I will have the set. But there's more! I still have to get bracers, waist armor, and boots. So looks like I got a lot of pvp-ing to do. After about 5 - 6k a day I'm sick of BG. Especially when we keep losing. OMG, I also have to get a new staff and wand, rings? Trinkets? *sigh*

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention I hit 70? Finally! After a bit of hardcore questing in Blade's Edge I dinged 70. Yay! What to do, what to do? Well 1. respec 2. train 3. flying mount 4. gear 5. battlegrounds to get more gear.I respecced to an arcane fire talent tree, modified a bit. Magic attunement?? I mean really who needs amplify magic? Who even uses it? So my spec is like 35/26, not your typical spec but since I use arcane missle so much I had to have it. I do notice that I crit a lot more than I did before, despite not having as many points in fire, I still regularly crit for over 2k with fireball (been as high as 2700! of course that was when I was buffed out).Training, ouch. That hurt.Flying mount. So I had to go to Shadowmoon, which I never went to before. A quick run through Terokkar and there I was. Whee! Flying mount. Ouch, that hurt even more. How much gold? Damn, I gotta start farming again.Gear, I had enough medals/marks/tokens but I didn't have enough honor for more...

I'm noticing a lot of lag in the new year. Not off to a good start this year Blizz. Battlegrounds not working, crafting, auction house, even the zeppelin. I must have made 5 involuntary trips back and forth between ORG and UC. Even one time the zone showed up as Stonetalon Mountains. WTF? I should have taken a screen shot. Let's hope Blizzard works it out very soon.

Holly and hunter bug

I don't know what happened but I used the fresh holly with my hunter after I mounted with my hawkstrider. My mount turned into a reindeer (expected) but then my pet showed up too? Here's a pic.So I could ride around on my reindeer with my loyal little frost sabre following me around. This reminds me of the old days when pets did not go away when you mounted. Weird.

Ganking and getting ganked

My Troll Rogue got some exercise over the weekend ganking in Redridge. Plenty of lowbies on this occasion. Let one 41 hunter get away, oh well. Can't gank them all. Caused some havoc in Lakeshire and the surrounding area, then moved into Duskwood. Plenty of lowbies there too. One guy called in his 70 gnome mage buddy to guard him. I spotted him hiding in the bushes waiting for me to come out. Hmm, good time to move on.Took my main into the Badlands cause my pally had encountered some trouble. Burned a rogue and a gnome mage (I hate gnomes), even did a bit of herbing along the way. Not a complete waste of time. Ran a fellow guildie through SM Library when we came out there were a few alliance hanging around the stone. A 65 NE warrior, and a 61 hunter. As well there was a 70 undead warrior taking them both on with some help from the surrounding horde in their 30's. Jumped in and helped take them both out and some of the low level alliance as well. 70 human warlock came around. We ba...

Blackfathom and Gnomeregan for drops

I have to say that Blackfathom Deeps and Gnomeregan are great places for drops for 20 - 25 lvl drops. Plus a few blues for nice shards. Compared to the other instances up to that level and after the drop rate, I've found, is higher when fighting normal mobs. Nice if you're training a guildie through or if you are an enchanter. Yes, they are both long but it's definitely worth it. Especially since the 2.3 update both have had their item drops improved. Sometimes it's fun to run lowbie instances.Grime encrusted objects can also produce ore (miners) or even greens so hang on to them. I'm planning on running a guildie this weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Nagrand is dangerous

Nagrand reminds me of Stranglethorn. Lots of ganking. It's about 50% which are questing and the other half which is ganking. Guess it doesn't help that Halaa section forces the PVP issue. Plus I guess it doesn't help that both factions require questing near the other faction's camp. Nor does it help that Alliance noobs are jerks. Despite my renewed thirst for revenge I really don't gank much. I might kill one guy one time. That's right, only once. I am not some guy who camps someone 10 levels below me, nor do I call in a buddy to help me. (Yes, I'm talking to that 70 NE hunter + pet, and 70 Gnome Warlock + pet). Gee, you're really good. It takes the 4 of you to fly above me and camp me, wow. You are so good. I guess that helps pass the time until you hit puberty.This just raises the question of why I rolled on a PVP server. Oh well. Someday my server will offer free transfers.

Played some AB over the weekend. I was surprised at how well I did. First game I led in honorable kills and was second in damage. The second game I was 4th for kills and 6th for damage. Although I did not notice a whole lot of other lvl 68's playing. Maybe one ally 69 mostly 67's and lower. Oh well picked up approximately 800 honor over the 2 games and of course the AB marks. Whee!Rogue is up to 53, adventuring in Felwood, soon to be heading to Winterspring.Hunter is also at 53, same areas as rogue. Considering spending the 50g to unlearn elemental leatherworking and pickup dragonscale leatherworking.Paladin is at 43, not much happening here.Warrior (mule) is at 17 or 19? I don't remember. As long as the gold keeps piling up, I'm happy.

At last 68! I need how xp?

Slowly but surely I made it to level 68 with my undead mage. *sigh The XP required for 69 just seems insurmountable. This is why so often I'm going back to level my toons because the fun part is leveling quickly. It's a sense of accomplishment, not only completing a bunch of quests and being rewarded with items but also by leveling. I experienced the same lull going from 40 to 50. Once I had my mount it seemed I had nothing to look forward too at 50. Going from 60 to 70 has it's reward of being at the top of the food chain, but then next comes the grind to get your gear, and your epic mount, and your flying mount. Which means either lots of raiding, or pvp-ing (which I'm terrible at), and lots of time spent farming for AH items. I can't even imagine what 70 to 80 will be like. I sure hope Blizzard has something good in store.

During one of the server lag/crash/boom problems I took some screen shots with my pally. I found I could continue casting a spell (without it completing) because of the server problem. Anyways it just looks funny running around with all the light.

Skywing bugged

I tried it like 3 times. Skywing just gets stuck at some check point. I tried it under normal conditions. Next time I jumped down and killed the mobs, and after that I tried leading him and the mobs on to the bridge but he just ended up going back to the same spot and got stuck. Even waited for the mobs to respawn but he didn't even attack.He's just stuck in limbo. Too bad, I could use the hat too./finger

Man! The server was full again! 10 minute wait time? Ha! I must have waited for over 15 minutes before I gave up. I had to jump to another realm to get some World of Warcraft action. Boo! Later when I tried again the queue had gone up to 250!!

WOW themed Dell notebooks

I came across this from Gizmodo and Kotaku. Dell is selling World of Warcraft themed XPS notebooks, sweet. Each notebook comes with either a Horde or Alliance insignia on the cover as well as special screensavers and wallpaper. Other goodies include a backpack, full retail versions of WOW and BC, novels, and a golden ticket to get yourself a cute little pet. The price unfortunately is not sweet. Just look at the starting prices for the XPS line. Ouch. However I'm sure may rich kids will getting this for Christmas.

Changes to WSG

Don't you hate those games which drag on for 30 minutes? Both flag carriers hiding back at their own base while the desperate search for the opposing flag carrier becomes an exercise in futility? Blizzard made changes to Alterac Valley which made it more of a "controlling check points" game rather than a race to the boss. I think this type of play requires more teamwork. Why not make changes to Warsong Gulch? How about if a game is tied after 20 minutes it comes down to a sudden death, of who scores first, whether or not you have control of your own flag? Or how about open it up, how about 2 flags per team? You need to have control of at least one of your flags before you can score and raise it to 5 for the win? Or keep it how it is with the exception of stalemates. If the both flags are absent from their bases at the same time for more than 5 minutes, flags reset. OR how about a timer on how long you can hold the flag? Quick games are the key.

Server full/locked/queue?

2 days in a row! Me not happy. The server's been full or I've been put into a queue or it's been locked, whatever. I've been forced to play one of my other toons (yes, I have others on other servers) ... which wasn't a terrible experience. I managed to level my pally from 17 - 21 over the past couple of nights ... BUT that's besides the point! WTF?! Why all of a sudden has the server been bogged down with an overflow of players? It's not the Christmas break yet, students should still be in school. Maybe there's been a huge influx of noobs downloading and trying the game after the Mr. T and William Shattner commercials. That's it! Blame the marketing guys at Blizzard. Anybody up for a paid character transfer?

What's up with the armory being down? Anyone? I can't check up on guildies and their new gear, can't compare myself to other mages.
