Snake robots ~ amazing!
2008-03-07 06:04:00
This from the About section on the youtube video."Snake robots can use their many internal degrees of freedom to thread through tightly packed volumes and access locations that people and machinery otherwise cannot. These highly articulated devices can coordinate their internal degrees of freedom to perform a variety of locomotive gaits that go beyond the capabilities of conventional wheeled and legged robots. The true power of these devices is their versatility; they can crawl, climb, swim, and scale flights of stairs.Copyright 2008 Biorobotics Lab, Carnegie Mellon University. Addictinggames.com site review
2008-02-27 08:18:00
Addicting games is my favorite of many flash game websites, it has hundreds of games that are, well, addicting. Whenever you just want to relieve a little boredom it?s a great place to go, some of the better games on here have kept me occupied for hours on end, others not quite as long, but most of the games a very fun and they get new entries daily.www.Addictinggames.com

EPOC NeuroHeadset, from Emotiv.
2008-02-26 04:32:00
http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/02/20/ emotiv-epoc-neurohea.htmlThe EPOC NeuroHeadset from Emotiv will allow users to control video games using their mind, pretty Sci-fi huh?I was, somewhat shocked when I read about this, I mean, it?s not like I thought it was impossible or anything. But I?ve been dreaming about this kind of thing since I was a little kid. I?ve always wanted to get a job working on this kind of technology (on the programming side.) so for me, this kind of feels like my dreams are becoming a reality to me. Anyway, if you?re a big fan of games, or computers in general, you can see where this could go. Who knows, pretty soon we may be talking with each other over the internet using our minds. The EPOC NeuroHeadset will be available around Christmas this year, for a mere $299. Ps. Sorry for not blogging again sooner, I?ve had a horrible flu for the last three weeks, and now some relatives are visiting.

Bioshock
2008-01-31 03:28:00
Another excuse to pump monsters full of lead? I don?t think so, Bioshock is definitely one of the best games currently out for the Xbox 360, if you enjoy either shooters or a good storyline, this game won?t disappoint you. Although the FPS combat isn?t extraordinary it?s fairly challenging, if you don?t play the game on easy, and has a few unique twists. To make yourself a more powerful combatant you will need to use a variety of ?plasmids?. These rewrite your genetic structure, making your stronger, faster, tougher, or giving you special abilities, such as the ever classic ?telekinesis? and the somewhat more original ?insect swarm?. But, as I have already said, the real selling point of Bioshock is its storyline, I don?t want to say much, because its much better if you have no clue as to what will happen next, but it has some of the best plot twists of any game I?ve played through. The surroundings match the mood perfectly, dark, gloomy, and yet you can, at times see the beautiful ...

Halo 3
2007-11-22 22:49:00
The first thing I noticed when I started the halo 3 campaign was the graphics, there simply amazing, the screen shots from the halo 3 multiplayer beta just don?t do it justice. you could even see the vanes on the leaves of the plants under foot, I was really surprised the graphics were as good as they are. You are once again on earth, your mission, to finish what they started, alongside your allies the arbiter, sarge, and captain keys you must fight all your old enemies in all new ways. The storyline is intense as you fight your way through the brutes, there forces, and the flood to save what?s left of the human race, and there are some major plot twists in store. Bungie had a lot more up there selves then they were letting on, some of the new weapons include the mauler, gravity hammer, and flamethrower, there is also a new human flying vehicle called the hornet, though sadly it can only be flown in the campaign. Another fun aspect of halo 3 is the theater, wish your frien...

Up coming games in 2007
2007-09-13 00:45:00
Halo 3 The 3rd game in Bungies Halo series, Halo 3, looks to be one of the best shooters coming out for the Xbox 360 this year. With a new brute vehicle, ATVs, fully customizable armor, some awesome maps, gear such as shield grenades, and many new weapons, Halo 3 multiplayer is sure to have you glued to your TV screen for weeks to come. If that wasn?t enough lets not forget the campaign. Halo has one of the best storylines I?ve seen in a FPS game and they have finally included online co-op, 4 player online co-op no less. So hold onto your Hats, helmets, halos, or any other head accessories and prepare to be blown away. Mass EffectThis is the next Si Fi RPG coming from Bioware studios. I really do love a good story and Mass Effect promises just that. From punching out raving lunatics, saving humanity and bringing FPS to a single player RPG this game should be a real blast! Call of Duty 4 Want a ridiculously large number of weapons to choose from? Amazing graphics? Killer gam...

Age of Empires 3
2007-08-29 19:47:00
The latest Age of Empires game is by no means disappointing. Although similar to its predecessors, it has some significant differences. First, in AoE3 you have a home city that can send you supplies from overseas, you start out with a ?deck? that has a fair number of ?cards?. You can use these (usually only one time per card) to get supplies from your home city. Your home city can level up, and as it does so it allows you to get new and more powerful ?cards?, which in turn, you use to gain resources, troops or upgrades from your home city. To start with, you can use all the cards you have in your ?deck?, but once your home city reaches a higher level you will run out of room to use all the cards and you will need to find what best fits your play style. This of course has the most effect in multiplayer, where your ?deck? will likely mean the difference between a win and a loss. Also, buildings, ships, walls etc, are destructible and will crumble as they?re attacked, but not the way o...
Assassin's Creed
2007-08-14 07:24:00
Set in Jerusalem, 1191 AD during the 3erd crusade. In Assassin s Cree d you play as Altair, a ?Master Assassin? who finds himself caught up in a conspiracy that threatens the entire world. What else do we know about it? Well the graphics kick ass, they look to be some of the best among the ?next gen? games and the combat appears to be very realistic and fast paced, no more surviving being stabbed in the chest half a dozen times. the game has a strong base in History, the people you will be assassinating are real historical figures who died in 1191. Also all of the cities in the game are accurately recreated cites from that period in time. The AI seems to be very good, NPCs will follow Altair through crowded streets and even leap across rooftops with surprising agility, also the way your targets will change course depending on where you are to best avoid you, and speed up when you draw near to them impressed me. too few games spend enough time on a really good AI. But what impressed me...

Fable
2007-08-14 00:51:00
Though Fable came out quite some time ago, its still a really fun game. The concept of raising your hero from the time he was a child well into his old age, choosing between good and evil, And having people react differently to you based on that, was a brilliant idea. The replay value is high because there are so many ways to play the game, you can be good, or evil, or somewhere in-between. You can also play an archer, warrior, or magic user, but you can mix them freely and it is possible to max every skill. If that?s not enough for you, there?s still many things you can do even after you beat the game, from owning every building in the game to marrying the ?lady gray? and becoming the mayor of Bowerstone. I bought it the day it came out and have beaten it a few times and I still have fun playing it, if you like RPGs and don?t have this game, get it you won?t be sorry.
