DExposE2 Does For Windows What Expose Does For Macs
2008-05-17 00:31:00
DExposE2 for Windows is a great app, even it it’s just a copycat. Actually, I’m not giving it enough credit, this things copies and then improves on the original. For those of you who don’t know what Mac’s Expose does, its pretty simple: Press a key and all of the windows open make themselves smaller ...

3 Online Music Services - For Free
2008-05-15 20:00:00
I’ve been debating lately with other people I know what music service is the best on the web. I naturally decided to do a comparison of the 3 services - Pandora, Free Napster, and Grooveshark - on the blog to give the facts about each. After going to the website, you are immediately asked what artist ...

reCAPTCHA Stops Bots and Digitizes Books All-in-One
2008-05-15 04:02:00
This isn’t new stuff by any means, but I thought I would write about it because of its total awesomeness. What reCAPTCHA does is it displays 2 words that are randomly taken from the scanned books of the Internet Archive and asks you to type in what the words are. This does a couple things: ...

New Team Fortress 2 Spy Skin by Pxl_Buzzard
2008-05-13 03:17:00
Hello again everyone. I write with the news that I recently did a small touch-up on the spy skin in Team Fortress 2 (an excellent online cartoon FPS made by Valve). The skin isn’t anything much, just a new camo tie that I thought was desperately needed (I mean, who wants a plain old striped ...

Vampirism Obliviated addon for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
2008-04-22 03:53:00
Hey everyone, I just thought I would write up a quick post about a little Oblivion mod that I made called Vampirism Obliviated. Here is the description that is in the readme: Vampirism Obliviated in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion erases all of the vampire spells and effects within Oblivion that act upon your character, and works whether or not you are currently a Vampire. Specifically, this mod erases the spells that make you into a vampire, such as vampirism25-100, the attack and defense bonuses, and sunlight damage, so that you can still become a vampire again if you disable this mod. Not that I should get much of a say about its awesomeness, but I do since I made it. Here’s the story about why I decided to make this in the first place. Grab a coke and some Cheeto’s, this is a classic… …One day I was minding my own business pulling off the biggest theft in history by stealing an Elder Scroll from the Imperial Palace and thus become the Master (Gray Fox for ...

Launchy 2 is simple; press Alt+Space, and an unobtrusive windows comes up. Begin typing in what you are trying to find, be that a program, IE or Firefox bookmark, the square root of 625, or that one picture buried deep within 10 folders of organization. Launchy begins finding as you type, and you can limit ...

Half Life 2: Portal mod

Flash Goes High-Def
2007-08-24 05:21:00
A few days ago, Adobe announced that they were going to release a new version of Flash that has H.264 support, which essentially means that Flash can now play videos (and games) that have the same quality as HD-DVD’s and Blu-Ray discs. I can see Youtube becoming a site that you have to wait for ...

Speed Up Your Computer with Automatic Process Priorities
2007-08-22 03:08:00
Even though the title may be confusing to some, the idea is simple. If your computer is trying to run a process (program/application) that is stealing a ton of your computer’s memory, then Process Tamer tells the program to watch it, or you (the user) is going to get mad and break something. For example, ...

GolfCard - The Weirdest iPhone App To-Date
2007-08-21 04:56:00
As I was reading through my RSS Feeds on RSSOwl (maybe I’ll review it later?), I read about this new app for the iPhone developed by Dave Philips. He calls it: “The iPhone18 Golf Score Card,” and it is pretty much a golf score card for those people who would rather use their fancy new ...

2007-08-20 18:16:00
Vista Transformation Pack (current version 7.0) is a program that aims to make Windows XP look like Windows Vista. The greatest feature (I think) about the whole package is how well it actually works without you stressing on and on to make it work right. Just install it and you’re done. It’s pretty easy to ...

Why Porting Halo 2 to Vista was A Bad Idea
2007-08-19 05:57:00
I am not a user of Windows Vista . I still use my trusty copy of Windows XP, because I am a believer that it is more compatible with stuff right now (not mentioning that I had to reformat my desktop computer when I tried to install Vista on it). In the next couple of years, ...

?Everybody?s Doing It!?
2007-08-18 19:53:00
Ok, I just saw an ad on for reading books, generally a good thing. There are kids smiling and laughing as they travel through deserts and lollipops and whatever else, but then comes the end of the commercial. “Reading, everybody’s doing it!” says the narrator. What the hell are they trying to teach kids by ...

Firefox Addon of the Moment #1
2007-08-17 19:33:00
I decided that since I love Firefox and all, I’ll write about addons that I find particularly helpful. So, the addon of the moment is… Link Alert! What LA basically acts as a warning addon; whenever you mouseover a link, if it is a download link, it will show the icon of the file, like ...

EA takes another step towards being doomed
2007-08-17 18:56:00
I just read an article over at Shacknews that told about how someone from the EA Headquarters has been making lots of changes to the EA Wikipedia page. Apparently he has been editing out nearly any reference to Trip Hawkins, who originally founded EA back in the day. He was even removed from the “key ...
