Things an SL Bot can do for you!
2008-01-14 22:10:00 Most people will say that bots are just good for camping. Well, they are indeed good for camping but, come on, be creative. There are other things you can do with an SL Bot and I found out about it when I attended Thoys Pan SL Bot Owners Meeting. The meeting isn’t really a meeting but it was like a show and tell kind of a meeting. SL Bot owners came to, well, show off their bots and there was a contest too for the most original bot. The prize was 1,000L$ or a new registered bot to your name. I know there are many SL Bot owners in Second Life and many of them are land owners or estate owners too. Yeah, you heard that right, land owners. They use bots to camp on their own land to increase traffic. I’m not sure if I had mentioned this somewhere but I once encountered a resident who told me that he was buying 100 bots and he will use them to increase his land traffic and then sell it at a higher price. Well, that’s one thing bots can do for you. Is there anything else?... More About: Things
Second Life and Game! Magazine
2008-01-14 10:10:00 Last month I was contacted by Ms. Diane Reyes of Game ! Magazine but prior to that I was asked by Ms. Eva Gubat, Editorial Manager of Game! Magazine, by e-mail if I would like to be a member of their writing pool. I said to myself, if they think my writing is good enough for their magazine then why not so I told her yes. As I’ve said, Ms. Diane, who is an Editorial Assistant, contacted me and asked if I’m willing to take on a writing assignment and guess what, the topic was Second Life . I accepted the assignment and she gave me a week to write the story. It was my first time writing for a nationally syndicated magazine and it’s scaring the crap out of me. (more…) ©2008 Kabalyero. Samarkand Explored
2008-01-12 19:14:00 Today I visited a Role Play/Combat Sim named Samarkand. The sim has an Ancient Arab/Persian look to it and according to Wikipedia, “Samarkand is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, prospering from its location on the trade route between China and Europe (The Silkroad)”. The Landing Point In Second Life, to find Samarkand just search under places using the word “samarkand”. Samarkand’s landing point is the Market Area (see photo) which is located 600 meters above the ground. To visit other areas of Samarkand you must find the teleporter which is at the other side of the market. Also, upon landing you will be given notecards with rules and other informations about the sim so read them well. (more…) ©2008 Kabalyero. All Rights Reserved.. More About: Amar

2008-01-12 07:00:00 Released - wpTheme_Kabalyero 1.0 I called it wpTheme_Kabalyero 1.0 or 1a. It’s a very simple custom made theme which I designed and created specially for this blog. It only has 2 columns and it’s very narrow because I never thought that I would be needing more space for plugins and content back then. More About: Links , Digg , 2008

Released - wpTheme_Kabalyero 1.0
2008-01-10 07:21:00 If you’ve been here a few months ago then I guess you would have seen that this blog once used the wordpress theme pictured below (see photo). I called it wpTheme_Kabalyero 1.0 or 1a. It’s a very simple custom made theme which I designed and created specially for this blog. It only has 2 columns and it’s very narrow because I never thought that I would be needing more space for plugins and content back then. Well, the blog grew and I converted that same theme to have 3 columns and made it wider and that was version 1.1 or version 1b of the theme. Now, as you can see, I am using a new custom theme, which I made myself, and named it wpTheme_Kabalyero 2.0 or 2a. (more…) ©2008 Kabalyero. All Rights Reserved.. More About: Released

Say Bye Bye To Banks
2008-01-09 10:56:00 Wow! Linden Labs did something right this time. You ask what it is? Well, in a post by Ken D Linden at Second Life’s Official Blog as of January 22, 2008 virtual banks in Second Life will seize to exist. Quoted text below: As of January 22, 2008, it will be prohibited to offer interest or any direct return on an investment (whether in L$ or other currency) from any object, such as an ATM, located in Second Life, without proof of an applicable government registration statement or financial institution charter. I guess those virtual banks who can show proof can stay but as far as I know, with regards to banks, banks in Second Life have no actual affiliation to any real life banks anywhere in the world or that they are accredited or licensed to operate by any government. In fact, many, if not most or even all, of them are operated by average people like you and me with no real banking experience whatsoever. (more…) ©2008 Kabalyero. All Rights Reserved.. Camping @ Korea Orientation
2008-01-08 12:21:00 The name of the sim is Korea Orientation but the place is called UTOZ. Well, I don’t know what UTOZ means or what it stands for although I did try to search UTOZ in google and I did find there website which is www.utoz.net but it did me no good because the site is in Korean. Anyway, there are some camping spots here that pays 2L$ per 10 minutes. I also noticed that most of those that camp there had the basic Second Life avatar appearance. I’m not sure but my guess is that they are bots (see screenshots). (more…) ©2008 Kabalyero. All Rights Reserved.. More About: Camping

Party Foods For Your Eyes
2007-12-18 05:37:00 [ December 18, 2007; ] If you think about it, foods and drinks are not needed in Second Life because avatars don't need to eat anything but I guess these objects are always good for adding some realism to your setup in-world. For example, I went back to visit the venue for the Paskong Pinoy event in [Second Life] and ... More About: Events , Party , Eyes , Foods
