With the recent banning of 3000+ accounts in Valkyrie due to bot issues, many of the players who were banned started to spam the forums with complaints. However, this one really tops them all. Someone is trying to organize a rally against LU!.Check it out after the jump!Many of the banned accounts had characters who had spent RoK points, Ragnarok's item mall currency. Some players claimed to have spent thousands of pesos, some even reaching +6k. This started out in the Ragnaboards, which brought a lot of jeers from the other posters. This really is a funny issue. Them being serious about it is makes it even funnier.The plan however, is riddled with holes. First of all, the LU! office is located in Makati Ave cor. Gil Puyat, which is a BUSY intersection. Ragnarok Valkyrie Updates

Philippine Ragnarok Online's newest server, Valkyrie , has encountered a rough road since it was released. However, the last 2 weeks have shown a turn for the better. Get to know about Valkyrie and it's issues after the jump.Valkyrie is pRO's only free-to-play server, with different features from the commercial servers. It has a special item mall which allows the purchase of a multitude of equipment, cards, and consumables. The server also has a permanent x1.5 experience modifier. Player numbers reach 4000 and above. Dying however, has a penalty of -5%.One of the biggest problems of Valkyrie was bots. To counteract this, players were hired to serve as police officers to monitor, find, and catch botters. These players, known as the Midgard Police or MPs, have been said to reach numbers of 150+ once the final list has been done.Another measure taken to combat bots was the addition of encrypted packets. Elder Scrolls Online?

Pete Hines, VP of Marketing for Bethesda (creators of Oblivion and Morrowind), has officially announced plans for an Elder Scrolls MMORPG.They are said to have already spent $300 million on the project. Zenimax Online Studios will be assigned to handle development and such. Other than that, there's very little stuff we know about it.I do hope it will be great, seeing the greatness that Oblivion achieved. Hellgate: London in medieval times perhaps?

RO2 Philippine Launch Delayed

Gravity has decided to delay the launching of their long-awaited sequel to RO in the Philippines, Ragnarok II, until Q2 or Q3 of 2008. The original release date was scheduled to be on December 2007, but was pushed back due to Gravity wanting to develop the game further.As of now, the kRO beta is still stagnant with no new major updates from before. However, Gravity is hinting that the current content that is out right now is only 0.01% of the total game. With RO2 having nearly 8 months more to create new content, we are hoping for a great game.According to Carlo "Wauks" Ople's unofficial statement, the RO2 CBT/OBT may come out in Q2 next year. In his interview with INQUIRER.NET, he stated that the Ellr class is still under development. Though we may not be sure of the accuracy of this news, we're hoping that the RO2 team would pick up the pace.Taken from IVDO and Waukster Online.

Level Up! Live 2007 Filmfest Winners

Level Up! Live 2007: Logged and Loaded had numerous side-events in addition to the main tournament proper. One of these is the LU! Filmfest. Out of 8 entries, the best 3 were chosen. 3rd place was awarded to Joseph Mangahas's Flyff masterpiece, "Madrigal's Knight". A story about a simple warrior on a quest for his loved one. 2nd was garnered by Gregor Togle's "Countdown to War", a RF:Online CGI beauty about an Accretian getting ready for battle. 1st place went to none other than.. US! The second and final day of Level Up! Live 2007: Logged and Loaded blasted off at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, on November 4. The day's activities included the Freestyle Allstars Tournament, RF Novus Elite Squad, the much awaited Cosplay, and the 2007 Ragnarok Philippine Championship.We arrived at LU! Live sometime 2:00pm, where we just missed the RF Novus Elite Squad Tournament. Toni Gonzaga graced the gamers with her presence a little while after and sang Perfect World's theme song. After that, the male gamer's dreams came true with the Cosplay event.More than 40 cosplayers ramped onstage and wooed the audience with their dazzling costumes and funny skits. Many yells and jeers could be heard from the crowd, mainly from the male gamers. Level Up! Live 2007 - Day 1

The day started early for many con goers at Live . There were several campers who were outside the World Trade Center since last night as early as 6pm. There were also buses provided at certain points around the outskirts of Manila that would pick up players.The Level Up! Live 2007 BusWe got to the WTC at 9am and there was already a line that overflowed outside the building. In the Philippines, the gaming scene isn't as alive as it is in America. Conventions aren't as big or as often, but it does have its perks. I've heard stories about gaming nerds in conventions. Big, fat, smelly, and a danger to other gamers. I have fortunately never encountered one of them, and I hope that I don't. Filipinos will seldom sacrifice their hygiene over a game. My PC is still broken. We think the motherboard is busted. I'm stuck with a Macintosh iBook G4, but it's not that bad. Of course, without my desktop, I don't have any access to my PC games. You've got your usual different types of towers, usual upgrades, usual enemies. What made this game different from the others is the fact that there are 4 different difficulties, and 3 different maps.Instead of building towers on a set path, you've got the whole map to build on. As long as you don't block the enemies path towards the structure you're protecting, you can put your turrents anywhere. Note: 6.49b is out. Get it HERE.It is in DotA's tradition to release an easter egg every X.X9 version. 6.29 had the Upgrader, 6.39 had the Frogs around the map, and now 6.49 has mini-bosses. Want to know how to get to them? Here it is.There are hidden "icefrogs" that are scattered around the map. You'll need a Gem of True Sight to see them. Once you find the frogs, simply spam your clicks on them and they'll die. They drop scrolls with letters on them. They come in three batches, and you have to fight a mini-boss per batch.Once you complete a batch, they form an orb that you must deliver to a circle of power in the lowermost right corner of the map. To get there, there is a teleporter at the top left corner which you get to using any skill that removes trees or by using tangoes.At first, there are 4 frogs found in the map. It is out! Dota Allstars 6.49 is the latest map update for the Warcraft III mod: Defense of the Ancients. The new update has a lot of new stuff in it, particularly 3 new recipes and 1 new item, a lot of heros, skills, and items were changed. This is definitely one great update for DotA. And guess what, I can't play it since my PC is busted. Grr.I will post my reactions to the recent changes once my PC gets fixed. In the meantime, here is the download link, and the exact changelog for 6.49.

Mads is an avid DotA player, but he's too busy playing to post. The lazy bastard.Anyway, Shirt of the Ancients is a site that sells Defense of the Ancient T-shirts made by Shnozberry Designs. For those who don't really know DotA, you may not appreciate the shirts too much as much of it is in-game jokes/phrases/teamspeak. The official Ragnarok Online 2 website is back up. It was closed when the Korean Beta started. There's not much yet, a few screenshots, some BGM, and the background story. Character details still aren't out, and even Ellr and Dimago art is hidden. Are they really that good that they have to keep it a secret?Just wanted to let you guys know.

Level-Up! Games, the largest online gaming company in the Philippines, is hosting their annual gaming convention, "Level-Up Live !", on November 3-4 in the World Trade Center, Pasay City.This is the venue for numerous gaming tournaments of Level-Up! games such as the Ragnarok Philippine Championships, R.F. Novus Elite Squad, the Pangya Philippine Tour finals and many more. They will also have numerous goodies like Poring dolls, Level-Up! jackets, and Ragnarok 2 goods. Important for me? Details about Philippine Ragnarok Online 2 will be given there.Also, they have numerous side events in store such as Cosplay competitions, game-themed booths, and drawing contests. Level-Up! will also have their annual film festival, where gamers will create short 5-10 minute films about a chosen Level-Up! game. This year, I'm planning to join. Which means I won't be updating for now, but I'll be back by Monday which is the deadline of the submission of the entries.I'll be sure to post my work here...

Many people may be wondering how Ragnarok 2 is faring. The Korean Beta has been open for about 3 months already, and news about RO2 is scarce. We haven't gotten any updates, the hype is dying down, so what exactly is happening to Gravity's "top" game?Beta TestingThe beta is getting old pretty quick. You have one race, the Norman class, and quests that are until about level +15. You've got the Kafra Auction House working, though not many know about it. Jobs, weapon upgrades, and two major areas. That's about it. The developers are probably holding back on updates to keep the hype up (or at least we hope they are), but it's not working.There are less and less players on the beta, and people are getting a bit tired of waiting. We're hoping that the next big update will introduce the Ellr class, and we're dreaming about the Dimago coming out as well.It's too early to really see what RO2 is, but beta is starting to become stagnant. I'm still waiting for my Half-Life 2: EP2, so I been stumbling around in the recent days.Flash games are great for those who need a breather, perfect for short breaks from work or studying. Need More Disk Space? CClean!

Alright, since the guys are busy right now I guess I'll have to fill the void for now. I'm sure you guys have run into disk space problems on your PC. When your PC is filled to the brim with games you just love too much to delete, you'll be wanting to squeeze every byte out of your hard drive.Ofcourse, you can't go deleting system files to free up space. What do we do? CClean. And no, that's not a typo. CCleaner is a freeware that basically scans your hard drive for stuff that is just clogging up your PC. It can remove unused files, cookies, and also a lot of other stuff like temp files from certain applications. For a complete list, check out their website.I've deleted at most 500MB from my PC in one go using this. If you use a lot of programs, or maybe watch a lot of videos online, these leave files behind that tend to bulk up and hog precious disk space. I highly recommend CCleaner for you.DOWNLOAD CCLEANER

It's coming out. Valve is releasing the second installment of Half -Life 2 next week. Half-Life 2: Episode Two will be available on October 10 via Steam and in North America, and on October 12 via the Orange Box. Am I excited? Hell yeah.Episode 2 takes place after Gordon and Alyx rush away from the destroyed Citadel and City 17. What we know is that they're heading for a rebel base called the White Forest. They've added alot of stuff in EP2: New enemies, new weapons, and most importantly, new surroundings. Most of the game will be taking place in forests and mountains, giving the player more options on what to do, and how to position himself in a larger battlefield.Valve has said that players will be seeing the bigger picture in EP2, with several factions coming out to help, or kill Freeman. Ragnarok Valkyrie: Free to Play Server

Level-Up! Games is due to release the Philippine Ragnarok Serve r : Valkyrie , on October 10 next week. It's free to play and rumored to be "bot-protected", and it's aimed at gamers who quit RO. The client is available for download NOW, so you can run it ASAP when it releases.However, this is is not without a catch. Slotted equips, several headgears, and MvP cards are no longer dropped. The RO Hypermart will be selling these instead. Several other items are also available in the Hypermart that are not available in commercial servers.Teleport, Fly Wings, and Butterfly Wings are gone from the server. Also, some maps are PK-enabled, making leveling a bit different. And what hurts the most? A -5% exp reduction when you die.
