This week is HUGE! A new console launching in Europe, after almost half a year delay, the Playstation 3 is finally arriving on this island. When you look at it alone, the launch line-up seems highly impressive, possibly one of the best in years, but then look at the bigger picture and you'll see that 80% of these games have been out for ages on the 360, with only a handful of exclusives; Genji, Motorstorm, Resistance and Ridge Racer 7. The PS3 launch isn't only about the games though, as it is also a BluRay player out of the box and to coincide with the launch, Sony are releasing a load of BluRay movies - a few hits (Casino Royale, Kung Fu Hustle, Gone in 60 Seconds), the rest not so much.Also released on the 360 for those not interested in the PS3, are a few sports games to start off Spring, notables include Brian Lara Cricket 2007, NBA Street Home Court and Virtua Tennis 3.Also a few good movies on DVD and are a must watch for anybody; Casino Royale, Children of Men, as well as...

With a few days to go until the PAL launch of the PS3, Sony have unvieled a new website showcasing all the PS1 and PS2 games that are playable on the PS3. Each game is given a rating, from 1 to 3. 1 having noticeable issues, 2 having minor issues and 3 working perfectly.What is worrying however, is the recommendation given at the bottom of the site:1. You avoid connecting any non-essential USB peripherals to your PS32. You avoid the use of "60Hz" and network modes (which may experience noticeable graphical corruption not present in the main game)3. You should skip optional FMV sequences (a small number of games have graphical corruption in one or more video sequences).4. A maximum of seven players can play (non-network) multiplayer PS2 games.Also, the games are listed according to their spine number, so various releases of the same game do not have the same compatibility. This week is the calm before next weeks storm, with the PS3 being released, and will leave a major dent in the bank.The Freecom DVB-T adapter proved to be a waste of money and will be going back immediately. Halo 3 out this autumn in three flavours

Microsoft have announced that Halo 3 will be released in the sometime autumn. It will also be coming in not one, but three different flavours to appease the various levels of Halo fans out there.Prices for the different versions have been confirmed for the US, but not Europe, although it is likely that the Legendary Edition will cost quite a buck, with a possibility that ultimate fanboys may buy it thinking the helmet is wearable. The helmet is only for ornamental purposes, and slots over a secret enclosure that holds three DVD's, perfect for hiding your favourite pornos.Disc one (included in both Limited and Legendary Editions), will include an audio-video calibration tool designed by the Halo 3 team, which they say will help you make the most out of your HDTV and surround system.
