News-PC Gamers Are Mad At Direct X 10

Apparently, computer enthurasists out there aren’t the only ones who are mad at Direct X 10. PC gamers are also infuriated at Direct X 10 as well. The phasing out of redundant operating systems is defiantly obvious, but with DirectX 10’s release, Microsoft has almost completely ended support in this department for everything other than Vista. And for non-enthusiast PC users, who really might not be upgrading for a while, this is a serious handicap. Microsoft attracted ire for this decision; it was labelled everything from lazy programmers to extortionists. One example can be found in Crysis, one of the most demanding PC games around. Crytek has recently come under fire for disabling the “Very High” (maximum) visual settings in Crysis’ DirectX 9 build, which is the one many XP users will be playing if their existing graphics card is up to it. Modding Warehouse-Map Of The Week-BadLands

I’ve finally decided to add a Map of the Week part of Pariah’s Guild for all of you PC gamers out there. These articles will be published every Monday, and will talk about my favorite map of the pervious week. I’ll admit this in an instance; I love Team Fortress 2 (for the PC, the 360 version was a bit inferior). I never playeded a PC game that has me so addicted to it. So, you can imagine how happy I was when Valve realesed a brand new map in their update for the game called Badlands . Badlands is styled like an old-western town filled with control points. There’s a lot of buildings in the map, so it’s quite easy for defensive classes like Engineers or Demomen to take advantage of the map. But you know what has me totally amazed with the map? The middle control point is on a spiral plateau, which means a lot of action will take place just to control that little spot. Youtube isn’t the only video community site on the internet. There’s Myspace videos, Daily Motion, ETC. Oh wait, I forgot one more site. Introducing, Gamer ’s Tube.com, the newest video site dedicated for hardcore gamers. Although the website is not visually advance as Youtube, it’s still beautiful. But, you know what surprises me? What also surprises me is how fast Gamer’s Tube.com is becoming more and more popular. The site already have 299 Public Videos, 69.732 Watched Videos and 1687 Online Visitors, which is quite impressive considering the fact that the website is only a couple months old. But you know what the site is missing? It’s missing a about us page. Not a lot of people know about Gamer’s Tube, and it would really help if the website has a about us page. Another thing I wish the website would fix is the MIRC page. When I clicked the link, a “page cannot found” page opened up. In 2005, Square Enix released Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2, one of Square Enix’s most beloved RPG franchise besides the Final Fantasy series. The game featured a cell shaded look (which was done by the artist behind the fame Dragonball Z series), featured new monsters to the series, and a new story. Well great news! Square Enix announced that they will be working on a brand new Dragon Quest game…other than the upcoming Dragon Quest game for the Wii. “It’s almost complete.” Yoichi Wada, Square Enix’s president .He also touched upon a possible area of fine tuning for developer Level-5 as he noted, “The balance between single player and multiplayer is important.” Sadly, Wada wouldn’t give a specific time frame for the game, only stating that Square Enix does not want to rush it out. Some people are saying that the game will be released for the Nintendo DS, but there’s no confirmation on the plateform the game will be released on. Share This

There are pretty large amount of movies out there that’s pretty reknown (e.g Star Wars, Predator, etc. ). One of them is Jurassic Park . So, you can imagine how I felt when I heard that there will be a mod based on the movie (well, movie and the novel) using the crysis engine.
