Well, I have some good news and some bad news about E3. The good news? E3 2008 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in…Los Angeles, California. However, don’t get your hopes up. E3 2008 will still be in the same format like last year. That means that it will be an invite-only affair, although the group didn’t specifically address whether or not there would be an exhibit show floor. It did say the summit will not feature the large trade show environment of previous years, but the show will focus on press events and business meetings. E3 will start on July 15th through the 18th. Today, I’ll will be talking about all the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly stuff that happened in the year 2007, and present my own insight into them. This will be know as my Retrospect article for 2007. I will do this every year at the end of December. If there’s one thing I can defiantly say about 2007, then it would be the fact that this was the first year of the Next-Gen console wars since the PS3 and the Wii came out on Nov. 2006. Let’s talk about Microsoft first. Microsoft had an amazing year this year. The first game released for the 360 in 2007 was Lost Planet. I considered this game the first true next-gen game since the game had one of the best graphics I’ve seen this year that wasn’t powered by the Unreal 3 Engine. Then Crackdown came out soon afterwards, which turned out to be an amazing game.
