The fifth chapter of the 2x2 Shinobuden anime, "Onsokumaru Getting Angry " begins in the dojo with Onsokumaru boxing with the Sasuke corps. We learn that he is training to enact revenge on Miyabi who has been beating him down everytime she visits. Shinobu tries to convince him to just let it go, but he's intent on his revenge. Obviously, Shinobu is the star of the series. She is kind, hardworking, and dedicated to her ninja training but is not actually very skilled when it comes to certain aspects (clone ninjitsu for example). As I reported before in our brief bio on 2x2 Shinobuden creator Ryoichi Koga, Shinobuden is not his only series. His other, less well know series, Genom has been a mystery to western audiences since it has never been licensed in North America. This is the 2nd chapter of the first episode of 2x2 Shinobuden. I should make it clear that all the episodes are divided into two distinct, self contained stories. The Master Appears begins with Kaede coming home from school when suddenly she is surprised by Shinobu hanging from a tree. Shinobu thanks Kaede for helping her with her exam, saying that Kaede's panties got her high marks from her perverted master. Suddenly Shinobu is distracted by a nearby cat. Which marks the second time she has been distracted by a kitty. I bet that it will becoming a running joke. Once she regains her concentration, Shinobu invites Kaede to her ninja village, and before she can refuse, they're off!I have to say that at this point I really am intrigued to see what kind of environment breeds numb-skulls like Shinobu and perverted, cigarette-smoking "Hawks" like Onsakumaru.How do they travel from the city streets to the ninja village? Review: Shinobu, The Ninja Apprentice Appears

My feelings are always swirling! And with that begins the typically energetic anime theme song to 2x2 Shinobuden. As per usual with anime openings, we get hints of lots of characters that we'll be introduced to as the series progresses. The one I am most interested in after watching the opening is a generic ninja in black with the head of an alligator (!)The first thing I noticed as the episode began was the great animation off the top. Shinobu is bouncing from rooftop to rooftop under the cover of night and the whole thing is done smoothly and effectively. The quality of the animation is really shown off as she passes a cat on a nearby fence. The angle changes to Shinobu's POV and the cat and BG all rotate with her leap.She lands on the balcony of Kaede, a high school girl who is studying for an exam the next day. Shinobu does some quick hand seals and shouts "Concealment Technique!" and then thinks she's invisible (she's not). She open the door to balcony and walks into Kaede...
