Community is important for both gamers and bloggers

The title itself seems obvious as we are social creatures and we need communities. But I don’t think of community as normal part of our life where we communicate directly, face-to-face with other people but rather the community online where you’re in contact with virtual representation of people. Now when I clarified those communities around bloggers and gamers, they don’t seem to be connected to each other. But actually they are quite similar. How do gamers come to be in some gaming community? There are two types of gaming communities online, first one are communities usually developed on forums around one game, let say Civilization. It gathers tens of thousands of people around common interest. Those communities are interactive as long as players are on the forum, but they do not interact through the very medium that brought them together, the game unless there is online version of it.
