Hunting for a new DSL ISP
2008-01-23 12:20:00 So I am looking for a new DSL ISP, any suggestions or agents who wants to offer their ISP to me? Now now, for all the Globe Innove agents read this: FORGET IT. You know why? I am going to cancel my Globe Innove subscription. My reasons? 1) Of the 1.5Mbps connection I am paying, I only get most of the time 500kbps OR LESS (even got less than 100kbps a few weeks last year 2007), that is less than 2/3 of the connection speed, and according to the Globe Innove tech I talked to, it is basic rule that customers must get AT LEAST 2/3 of the connection speed; 2) The 1.5Mbps connection was already upgraded to 2Mbps and we’re still not yet upgraded; 3) I did an experiment, and for the month of January 2008, every time I run an online game client my connection starts to disconnect FREQUENTLY, if I shut down the client, the connection is stable; 4) I already wasted so many opportunities, time, and money because of the slow connection, dead phone lines, no internet connection, or freque... Last 2007-12-14 Feedback Friday, they mentioned about the coming changes to the attributes: Body points will now add a bonus to your armor rating Mind points will now add a bonus to your ability damage Spirit points will now add a bonus to your chance to deliver critical hits Health has now been upped for all characters These changes are coming with Patch 1.4, so in other words, attributes are pretty useless pre-1.4 (most players agree). Ragnarok Online II - Worst Game of the Year (2007)
2008-01-06 12:13:00 Well.. that is according to ThisIsGame .com, giving Ragnarok Online II the 2007 Worst Game of the Year Award. (image hotlinked from thisisgame.com) Do you agree? One thing I know, general reactions are always different when a game lands on a country or region with a different culture, different taste, and different market. I’ve seen this last year (can’t remember which game it was @_@ ). Ragnarok Online II is one of the most anticipated MMOG here in the Philippines, it was supposed to be launched last year according to some people and rumours, but instead will be this year. And oh, to answer my question above, no I do not agree that RO2 is the worst game of the year, whatever their reasons are. I will personally vote it as one of the top for 2007. But that’s just me.. So… Number of voters: 40,000+ Categories: 8 Best New game 2007 Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO) - 43% Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa (TR) - 26% Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - 15% HellGate: London (HGL) - 11% Fury - 2% For this category, I voted for Tabula Rasa which ended up second, but I am not surprised with Lord of the Rings Online getting 43% of the votes. I played LotRO from it’s Alpha to it’s early Commercial Launch and it is just superb. Great concepts and serious thinking was put into its development which gave LotRO its right to win in this category. But with the budget limited, they are now considering using GNU/Linux instead (I wish I quickly bookmarked that news article from a local newspaper that is also publishing online, which I came across accidentally), with that, I strongly recommend using Edubuntu . MPAA Violating the GPL License?
2007-12-28 15:28:00 The Motion Picture Association of America or MPAA has been forced to stop distributing its “University Toolkit” online. Many are familiar with MPAA as they are in the forefront of Anti-Piracy campaigns especially via BitTorrent and related sites. But just like Microsoft Philippines being sued for piracy, the MPAA is being accused of violating the holy GPL license where ‘all modifications to software licensed under the GPL, however minor, must be released’. Once again, here’s another issue that shows us how these fore runners of the Anti-Piracy movement are they themselves in violation of “Intellectual Property Rights Law“.
