2007-07-26 16:34:00 Was watching StarGate Atlantis Season 3 Episode 10 entitled “The Return (Part 1)". StarGate is the most popular sci-fi TV series today (Season 4 is already being filmed). World of Warcraft was mentioned in this episode where a top scientist is a WoW Addict player. Not only that, this scientist is a member of the closed beta of the new expansion of WoW wherein he is already Level 74, yes you read that right, “Level 74″. He also mentioned his professions, and few details of WoW to make it really look real that he is a WoW addict. While being ’super’ amazed that a woman, the leader of StarGate Atlantis expedition is also playing World of Warcraft (she’s pretending so her scientist can get access to a security access they need). 2007-07-23 17:52:00 And so, I started downloading the whole Guild Wars : Eye of the North (GW:EN) content at home. I already saw the new content and the new map from my Guild Wars installation on my office workstation (dual-monitor!) and it looks great and far more exciting than the previous Guild Wars. I even said to my officemates that if ArenaNet can create a great game like GW:EN, they should’ve done it from the beginning. GW:EN login music alone is already great. 2007-07-06 08:14:00 Level-Up! Games announced that Philippine R.O.S.E. Online will go offline on August 6, 2007 exactly at 3:00pm. We can keep on fighting but there is only so much we could do. And so, it is with deepest regret that we inform you that we will be shutting down operations for Philippine Rose Online on August 6, 2007, at precisely 3:00 PM. Apparently, it started when Triggersoft stopped all development and support for ROSE Online. And keeping a game without any development and support from the developers is a daunting task. LU! decided it is time to put pROSE to rest. This is the hardest decision to make for any online gaming company, but the hardest of all is deciding which games to publish, knowing how long the developer is willing to develop and support the game. 2007-07-03 06:32:00 The myth? “Increase your bandwidth by 20%” or “Regain 20% of your bandwidth” and anything similar. What is the usual content of this myth? Windows uses 20% of your bandwidth! Get it back A nice little tweak for XP Pro. Mcft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (suspect for updates and interrogating your machine etc..) Here’s how to get it back: Click Start–>Run–>type “gpedit.msc” without the “ This opens the group policy editor. Then go to: Local Computer Policy–>Computer Configuration–>Administrative Templates–>Network–>QOS Packet Scheduler–>Limit Reservable Bandwidth Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the ‘Explain’ tab : “By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default.” So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then...
