NVIDIA releases mid-range 8000 series card

Finally some good news for people who can't afford high-end NVIDIA cards like the GeForce 8800 GTX, GTS, or Ultra. The new 8800 GT is a mid-range graphics card, which will cost around $149 to $249 (approximately Rs. 7800 to 9800), depending on the memory it carries. First Spy Shot of N82 Emerges

Although there was a rumor about upcoming Nokia handsets including N81 and N82, this is the first live shot of the Nokia N82.Though it's similar to the N73 with a candy bar form factor, the spec sheet looks impressive with quad band GSM/UMTS/HSDPA and a 5-megapixel cam of Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus and 20x digital zoom. It can record up to 30 fps of VGA video. There is enough real estate with a 2.4 inch QVGA display of 16 million colors. It also sports built-in GPS and FM radio. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (although no word on what flavor yet) and Bluetooth 2.0. It packs 100 mb of built-in memory and a micro-SD memory card slot. I have been using Meebo for more than six months now and find it very useful and easy to use. Meebo is a web-based chat application supporting Live Messenger, Yahoo, GTalk, AIM, ICQ, and AOL, all in one page. Having a Meebo user account enables the user to have a single login for multiple IM services, all in one login. Invisible sign-on is another feature, which is not available on some IM clients (like GTalk).The "Meebo Me" widget allows users to embed Meebo on their personal websites. Meebo recently released a Firefox add-on which enables the users to integrate Meebo right into Firefox.

An OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) Project Foundation team working in a village near Mumbai now looks to generate enough juice to power the low-cost OLPC laptops. Arjun Sarwal of OLPC explains that they used an old Fiat engine and a system of pulleys and belts.The goal is to develop a low-cost energy source that can be used in Indian villages. Working in a village close to Mumbai, Sarwal said the group considered using solar energy but sunlight near Mumbai was not "consistently strong." There was not enough wind or running water nearby to use these as sources of power, and the cost of running a gas-powered motor was too high.OLPC is close to putting its XO laptop into production, but has been beset by delays and rising costs. Originally intended to cost $100 each, the cost has since risen to nearly $200. The super Nokia N81 8GB is now available all over the world. The 8GB model is now available for $615 (approx. Rs. 24500/-) and the 2GB microSD model costs around $515 (Rs. 20500/-) plus taxes.It will come preloaded with three demoes of FIFA 07, Asphalt 3: Street Rules, and Space Impact Light, although these games will be available for download and preview once the N-Gage platform comes online some time in November. Yes, the Symbian goodness at its best is coming soon! I have always liked the N95 and its a great phone, but there were also many crucial deficiencies in the N95. Nokia now makes amends and releases this mother of all phones, the N95 8GB.The letdowns known on the original N95 were its very very limited RAM available after bootup (only 20 MB, sheesh!) and its battery. Nokia has now released its much more sexier black counterpart with these things solved. The new N95 has 8 GB of built-in memory (although the original one purportedly now supports up to 6 GB) but no memory card slot, which might be a turn off for some people as this leaves no room for more expansion. It now has about 84 MB of RAM free to the user, which means actual multitasking. The battery has been upgraded to 1200 mAh, more juice while using GPS, Yay!All in all, another great phone!
