MySpace DO?s & DONT?S
2007-02-11 11:04:01 DON’T 1) Use a cluttered background image on your MySpace profile. If you are going to use an image rather than a plain colour, keep it simple, you don’t want it distracting from the main content on your profile. 2) Don’t clutter your MySpace profile with “Which Celebrity Am I?”, quizzes and other various tacky rubish, at least if you expect to be taken seriously as a professional artist / entity on MySpace. 3) Do not let your MySpace ‘friends’ clutter up your profile with oversized comment graphics. These graphics, although an integral part of MySpace marketing, if left large will distort your profile layout. There are several ways to avoid this happeneing… a) Use our automatic comment re-sizing script b) Disable HTML in your comments c) Delete the comments after they have been posted on your profile. 4) If your going to have a song on your MySpace profile that loads automatically (auto-start), make sure that its a well loved song ... Revolution Leeds Custom MySpace Design
2007-02-11 11:04:01 We do not manage the Revolution (Call Lane) Leeds MySpace profile [http://www.myspace.com/leedsrevolution]. However we did create the unique profile design that you see on their MySpace. Our design brief was to create something stunning but simple that wouldn’t distract from the event listings that are updated weekly by the In-House management team. The final layout we created was a simple black and white design that made use of the Revolution ’star’ logo as well as their current campaign slogan ‘I Love Vodka’. Hosting & New Project
2007-02-11 11:04:01 Unfortunately this site was down AGAIN yesterday, once again down to our webhosts. The thing that makes me really mad is the tech support at our webhosts saying that all of there servers are up 99.999% of the time, let me tell you something… THEY MOST DEFINATELY AREN’T! To prove a point and for my own piece of mind i have signed up to AlertSite server monitoring. As my webhost can’t provide an uptime report (which i think is utter bulls**t) i thought it would probably be more benificial if i provided them with one. Moving on… I am pleased to announce that Loud Mouth is in the final stages of beta testing a new MySpace generator site that we will be launching mid-march, i’ll announce more on this project later this week, for updates on this project you can also check out the Custom MySpace Designs Blog by clicking here… More About: Hosting , Project , Host , Sting

How to resize Comment Images on your MySpace profile
2007-02-02 17:01:01 The last thing you want after spending hours designing your MySpace profile is the images people leave in comments distorting your page. There is a simple way of avoiding this problem, simply edit your profile and place the code below anywhere on your page. <style type=”text/css”> td.text td.text table table table td a img {width:100px;} td.text td.text table table table td div img {width:80px;} td.text td.text table table td img {width:260px; max-width:260px; width:auto;} td.text td.text table table td div img {width:80px;} * html td.text td.text table table td img {width:260px;} * html td.text td.text table table td a img {width:90px;} * html td.text td.text table table td div img {width:80px;} </style> The above code will automatically resize Comment Images on your MySpace profile. Sacha Skarbek is a singer / songwriter who is currently working with the likes of the Pussy Cat Dolls and has recently been nominated for a Grammy for his part in James Blunts ‘Back To Bedlam’ album. We worked closely with Sacha on his design making sure he was completely happy with his profile before launch. The custom design we created leaps out of the screen as it is a very simple black and white design which is lifted by colour photos, in a polaroid type arrangement, of Sacha with various friends, colleagues and co-workers. Upgrading WordPress
2007-02-02 17:01:01 We upgraded our version of Word Press today from WordPress 2.0 to WordPress 2.1 “Ella” and as promised by WordPress.org the transition only took 5 minutes and a minimal amount of effort, or so i thought… While updating this particular post i attemted to use the new feature rich WYSIWIG editor and started getting TinyMCE errors, after about half an hour of digging around various friends Blogs i noticed that im not the only one getting these errors. Using my pearls of Wisdom i thought that this might be a problem purely because im using Firefox, so I reverted to IE only to find the same problems. At a stage of desperation i went back to the WordPress support forums to find that I was not the only person having this particular problem and found an easy solution was to clear my Cache, which i did and to my suprise found everything working the way it should be. I’ve only just started tinkering around with all of the new features in WordPress which include AutoSave,... More About: Wordpress
Cassette Jam Custom MySpace Design
2007-02-02 17:01:01 We recently completed the overhall of Cassette Jam’s MySpace [http://www.myspace.com/cassette_jam]. Cassette Jam, a DJ duo from Leeds, are fast becoming one of the hottest properties in the UK Music scene, renowned for their showstopping ‘2many djs’ mash up style sets. We tried to reflect Cassette Jam’s musical madness in the custom design that we created for there MySpace profile. Instead of an ‘in your face’ background design we decided it would be best to use a black and white image and compliment this with colourful ‘Mix Tape’ images (that are hyperlinked to external zip & mp3 files). Looking to the future with Cassette Jam, we are in the process of doing a design overhall on there website, which we aim to be completed by the end of February. We are also in the process of implementing a flash game to the Cassette Jam MySpace profile (watch this space for updates!). Our on-going relationship with Rory & Will (Cassette Jam) w... ?How do we get more friends? - Part 3
2007-02-02 17:01:01 If your good at writing, even if your not brilliant, writing a MySpace Blog can help you attract new friends fairly easily. The most important thing you should remember when writing your Blog is keeping your content fresh and relevant to what your trying to promote on your MySpace profile. There is no halm in self promotion via your Blog, just remember, you want to keep your readers engrossed in what your writing, itching for more. So, don’t write Blog’s along the lines of ‘Last night we played an amazing gig, the crowd where pretty crappy, but we were amazing…‘ But, do write Blog’s along the lines of ‘Thankyou to everyone who attended last night, we really appreciate your support and hope you enjoyed…‘ A Blog helps you to interact with your viewers as well as attract more friends, it will only take you a couple of minutes to update on MySpace, so what are you waiting for… Go write a Blog! ?How do we get more friends? - Part 2
2007-02-02 17:01:01 Another good way of getting more inbound friend requests is posting more comments. Comments play an integral part of a complete MySpace marketing brief. A simple way of increasing the amount of comments you make, and thus increasing your exposure, is to comment every person that adds you as a friend. This will increase your visability to more potential MySpace friends as each comment will be read by that persons friends. Keep your comments short and sweet. Below are examples of good and bad comments to leave your MySpace friends; > Good: “Thanks for the add! Make sure your drop by and keep checking my page for updates.” > Bad: “Thanks for add“ If you leave comments like the above bad example you will recieve a much poorer response and consequently recieve a lot less friend requests than if you leave a comment similar to the above good example. The reason for this is simple… People looking for friends on MySpace read comments and will generally click thr... More About: Friends , Friend , Part , More , Ends

?How do we get more friends?
2007-02-02 17:01:01 I’d say the question i get asked most frequently by my clients is; “How do we get more friends on our MySpace?”. There is no fixed formula for achiving more profile views & friends on MySpace, but there is one simple web rule that still applies; ‘Content is King’. Your MySpace needs to be filled with content relevant to what you are trying to sell… there is no point having a MySpace if your not going to use it properly! A great way of obtaining more friends is having your profile featured in other peoples top 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 24 friends, especailly if their profiles are recieving alot of traffic. Our main profile [http://www.myspace.com/loudmouthmarketin g] has over 10,000 friends, mainly due to the fact that it is featured in alot of top friends lists. There are many other ways of getting more friends and we will explore these over the next couple of days, but i will finish off by strongly advising that you DON’T use bots to add f... Official Cream MySpace Design
2007-01-26 04:59:01 We recently completed the overhall of Cream’s Official MySpace [http://www.myspace.com/officialcream]. Cream, based out of the Nation nightclub in Liverpool is one of the best-known dance clubs in the UK. Cream also hosts the sellout dance festival Creamfields each year on August Bank Holiday weekend. Its own record label continues to release many compilations each year. As Cream is such a well recognised brand we felt that the best angle to choose for their MySpace design was to go with their current branding which was there logo in Neon Lights. Although this particular design is made up of just 3 key images it reflects the strong branding that Cream already has. Our on-going relationship with Cream will mean constant updates to their MySpace profile, including; Events Updates, Quarterly Desi gn Overhall’s and general promotion to ensure that Cream gets the exposure it needs on MySpace. Loud Mouth & MySpace
2007-01-24 16:57:04 It really amazes me how many people in the music industry STILL don’t understand the benifits that MySpace can offer them. We try to make our clients utilize the organic media that is MySpace to its maximum potential. MySpace, in my opinion, is still an extremelly untapped GoldMine that can offer anyone in the Music Biz a platform for whatever service they are offering. Be it Singer / Songwriter / Publisher / Peformer, MySpace has the potential (if used right) to transform your career or business and take you to the next level. Over the next month we will be blogging various case studies and tutorials to help you better understand MySpace and its value to you and your business. More About: Myspace , Mouth , Loud , Pace
