AGLOCO statistics sites
2007-07-30 16:25:00 Now that the Viewbar is out, the hours are being counted. It seems that we are all going to have "hour accounts" that show the hours we earn and the hours we have accumulated in past months---much like referrals. A few sites have sprung up that are dedicated to keeping track of how many hours the top recruiters get, as well as how many referrals they have. Here are the three I know of:AGLOCO Hours: Keeps track of total hours. Also has a few other articles on AGLOCO and getting visibility on the Web.AGLOCO Winners: Nice tables of top AGLOCO member recruiters and all their stats (referrals, direct referrals, hours for this month, total hours, etc. (I'm not sure what "network activity" is...)AGLOCO Top Gun: The original AGLOCO recruiter stats site. Has history all the way back to January 2007.And if you haven't yet joined and started building your AGLOCO network, what are you waiting for? More About: Sites , Statistics
AGLOCO Viewbar is about to be launched!
2007-04-04 15:47:00 Leer este artículo en españolLer este artigo em portuguêsA message from Brian Greenwald, official AGLOCO Blogger:April is upon us, and as we have mentioned previously on this blog, the Viewbar is slated for release this month. We will be sending an email directly to each Member when their account is authorized for Viewbar download with more detailed information regarding the software release. Here are a few initial details:The Download Process: As we have discussed, we will be releasing the Viewbar first to Members who joined first. Currently, the plan is to have the Viewbar first be available to Members with ID#s beginning in BBBB to BBBF (as well as Members with an ID# beginning in “AGLO”). This is about 50,000 Members. We will then continue releasing the Viewbar to more and more Members in the order in which they signed up (again, all Members will be notified by email when their account is authorized for Viewbar download).Multiple Users on One Viewbar: As stated previously... Technorati not picking up my blog!
2007-03-27 16:18:00 I am getting more involved with Technorati (which I think is a great resource to find out who's who and what's new on the Internet). My blogs are on there. However, though this blog shows up and the links to it are acknowledged, it still says "no blogs link here yet" on top, which is silly. Here's a screenshot:Weird how it actually shows the inbound links and yet when it comes to authority, nothing links to this blog, eh? I tried deleting my Technorati claim and the code from this site and starting over. Same problem. Even when I manually ping Technorati, it won't acknowledge any of my posts. This is a relatively serious problem, because my link exchange offers will carry more weight if my Technorati ranking is higher. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Please post your comments and let me know what the solution is if you have previously had this problem. More About: Blog , Picking
A special offer to AGLOCO members with websites (not a member? Click here)
2007-03-24 01:04:00 Hey guys,As you know, I have been plugging away at this AGLOCO thing, trying to find out as much information as I can and visiting tons of websites out there. My main source of referrals are my Spanish and Portuguese AGLOCO blogs, and I try when I have time to translate stuff for them to better understand.Since the lion's share of the information out there is in English, my foreign language sites have had far less competition and successfully helped spread vital information about AGLOCO. But now that AGLOCO is becoming hugely popular, I am running into some trouble. A bunch of sites are stealing my content and a few are beating me at the SEO game, lowering my rankings in the search engines. Some of these sites even put false information up to entice people! I, of course, am kind of angry about this, but what can you do?Well, here's what I am going to do: Given that I want to increase my search engine rankings in order to beat these guys, I need inbound links. So, I am now offering... More About: Click , Websites , Special , Offer , Members
How to get a screenshot of your referral statistics table
2007-03-23 20:26:00 I know many of you already know how to do this, but for those who don't, here's how to do it (on a Windows PC):Login to your account and get your table up on screen.Hold down Ctrl and press the Print Scrn/SysReq key (usually located to the right of the F12 key next to the Scroll Lock key). You have now copied what's on your screen to the clipboardOpen Microsoft Paint, Photo Editor, IrfanView, Photoshop (basically any photo editing software you have) and paste the image (you can simply hold down Ctrl and press V).Now save the image. You might of course want to crop it, but that's up to you. After which you should get something like this here:Then you can post it on your site for the world to see, and even send it into one of these two sites so they can record your progress.Good luck. By the way, if you wonder what the heck this is, click on the image.Michael H. Lewis More About: Screenshot , Statistics , Referral , Table

AGLOCO gets mentioned in the Economist
2007-03-19 21:41:00 You know when an online startup like AGLOCO gets coverage in mass offline publications that something's going to shift. Many people use the Internet, but only a small percent of them learn about the latest stuff through the Internet. Most of us, even though we use the Internet, find out about the newest, hottest stuff through TV, newspapers, friends, radio, and yes, magazines like the Economist .I am not the first to break this news, but it is worth stating for any of you who are reading this blog that AGLOCO got a paragraph or two in the Economist's Technology Quarterly report:Yet another example [of new Internet user-information businesses], established by a group of Stanford graduates, is Agloco. “Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf,” says its website. “How much of that money are you getting? You deserve a piece of the action.” Like AttentionTrust, Agloco is based on a browser plug-in that tracks users' onli... More About: The Economist
7 Reasons why AGLOCO is not going to fail
2007-02-26 20:16:00 Some people say that AGLOCO will fail because most people won't make lots of money off of it. The argument says that since it is only a small minority of people who are actively trying to build huge referral networks, only they stand to reap the benefits of AGLOCO membership; the rest won't make any money and they'll just stop using the Viewbar altogether, lowering the payout amounts, discouraging others from joining and killing the program's viability. Or maybe people will get spyware-weary and not download the Viewbar for fear of being monitored. I couldn't disagree more with these argument, for a number of reasons:It's a big world out there. Meaning that even if three-quarters of all savvy Internet users out there think that AGLOCO is a scam, the one quarter that doesn't is still going to sign up - and I bet that one quarter will be more than enough for a decent advertising audience that will definitely draw in some serious cash. It certainly would easily break AGLOCO's "... More About: Reasons , Goin
Why I joined AGLOCO
2007-02-22 16:00:00 I am not someone who jumps at any old money scheme online. I don't like losing my money, and I certainly don't want my identity stolen. That's why I want to tell you what convinced me to join.Without hesitation, I can easily say that the key thing that convinced me is the story of AllAdvantage. In case you don't know, AllAdvantage was a company very similar to AGLOCO in which members signed up, downloaded a Viewbar, and earned a portion of the revenue generated from advertisements shown on the Viewbar. Though there are differences, AGLOCO is essentially AllAdvantage reincarnated. When I first heard about AGLOCO, I started looking for information about the pay-to-surf industry. I remembered AllAdvantage only vaguely, not having been a member, but my research definitely brought back those memories. I decided to look into AllAdvantage more thoroughly.I ended up finding tons of pages about AllAdvantage on the Internet: Outdated pages describing how the system worked, passages about w...
A Brief History of AGLOCO, by the AGLOCO development team

You can find it by clicking on the "History " tab at http://www.agloco.com/web/guest/aboutusTh e InfomediaryIn February 1999, four of us sat around in the backyard of a house on the Stanford campus (we were either current or former Stanford students) and created a new concept – the online infomediary. We realized that individual users of the Internet, by their actions and the information they were providing (both willingly and not), were creating tremendous value. Yet none of this value was accruing back to the individual users. We also realized that individuals held much more information about themselves which they might be willing to share if they would share in the profits from this information, and if other conditions - such as privacy and security - were satisfied. We knew that companies were willing to "pay" for increased information about users. But no system exi... More About: Development , Team
AGLOCO is not "angloco"
2007-02-21 18:18:00 I have noticed something: sometimes when people do a search on Google for AGLOCO, especially with another keyword that might not be so common, Google will say "did you mean angloco? If you are looking to make easy money by taking part in the hottest new revenue sharing project on the Internet, you want AGLOCO. You came to the right place. For clarification, in case you are confused: Angloco is a fire and rescue vehicle manufacturing company in Britain. The AGLOCO member calculator: what will you earn?
2007-02-13 15:59:00 The AGLOCO member calculator does not calculate in dollars or any other money amounts. This means there is no guarantee that you will make over $4,800 per month, if you refer 5 members, as some are claiming (including an alarming number of Portuguese-language blogs I have seen). Here's how it works:The calculator shows the amount of hours you will likely earn if you refer x amount of members who surf x amount of hours. Nothing more. When the Viewbar comes out and advertising money begins to flow, AGLOCO will, based on this information, specify a rate per hour. Based on this, you will be paid according to the total number of hours in your account (that third column in your chart that will only contain zeroes until the Viewbar is out) multiplied by the rate of payment established per hour. If the rate is $1 per hour and you have 1000 hours, you will get $1000. If the rate is 0.65 € and you have 300 hours, you get 195 €. A more thorough example:Let's say there are 450,000 members a... Frequently Asked Questions about AGLOCO
2007-02-08 18:44:00 Is this a scam or fraud? No. The members of the development team include people with vast high-profile experience in business. Two of the best-known are Jim Jorgensen and Ray Everett-Church. A Google search with keyword “agloco” now brings up more than a million pages. As of February 7, 2007, AGLOCO has over 100,000 members already; the goal is 10 million by July 2007.Is the AGLOCO referral system multi-level marketing? No. Multi-level marketing involves members selling products to new members that they recruit. AGLOCO is basically the opposite. No member ever pays AGLOCO. Instead, AGLOCO gets money from companies (like advertisers, search companies and online merchants) and distributes cash and shares to it members. How do we know AGLOCO will work? This is actually not a new idea. It worked last time around, when a company called AllAdvantage used the same system and paid out over $120 million dollars to its members between 1999 and 2001 (read more here). An old site detailing a bunch of "pay to surf" programs of the dot-com boom
2007-02-08 15:41:00 The link at the bottom of this post is to an old outdated website that has a comparison chart of AllAdvantage and other companies of the crazy dotcom boom era. The author signed up for AllAdvantage and several other AGLOCO-style programs and reported his results as of March 26, 2000 on his site. AllAdvantage was the first pay to surf program, but by March 2000 several imitators had sprung up, because this business model worked! Of course, it wasn't long before the tech crash of 2000-01 killed all the fun. Kind of interesting that it has taken 5½ years for this business model to come back! That recession along with 9/11 apparently scared many people. So without further ado, Here is the site, still up after all these years! Very interesting! More About: Surf , Programs , Site , Boom

Lessons from a successful AGLOCO downline
2007-02-01 21:50:00 It did take me a month (I signed up on December 31st), but I am at 100 referrals! Three cheers for hard work!Lately I have noticed many folks talking about how they are growing impatient and don't want to wait for the viewbar, so they stop. Some think that their referrals are no good because they get few indirect referrals. I'll tell you this, I didn't get to 100 sign-ups by treating folks like mere objects. A "downline" is not just a bunch of statistics. It is made up of people, and those people and I have a chance to really make common cause and even bond together with as partners in founding one of the world's great watershed ventures.AGLOCO is a relatively easy idea to sell. It is common sense to put the billions of dollars in advertising back into the pockets of ordinary users. But in order to get somebody not just to join, but to get excited and recruit other members, you need to make sure they know all about AGLOCO: why do they need to join now and not wait for... What happened the last time around? AllAdvantage revisited
2007-01-29 02:31:00 Leer este artículo en españolLer este artigo em portuguêsAGLOCO and pay-to-surf is not a brand new idea. In fact, though different in a few key ways, AGLOCO is the new version of AllAdvanta ge, a company that, in its less than two years of existence, paid out over $120 million to its members and proved that pay-to-surf could indeed work. Those of us who remember AllAdvantage remember the fever of that time: people were starting small web-based companies and making millions, sometimes in just weeks. The economy was booming. Stocks were red-hot, and the Internet was changing everything. AllAdvantage was no less revolutionary - you, the user, were going to get your share just for using the Internet. It was a smashing success.AllAdvantage was launched on March 31, 1999 - the first "infomediary" in which companies and web surfers would mutually benefit. It immediately became tremendously famous. The promise of an economic network
2007-01-12 21:57:00 It's simple. Google AdSense and other targeted ad services can only go so far. Especially considering that, after a while, the average Internet user gets more experienced and learns how to avoid clicking on ads (or at the very least, not to buy after having clicked on the ad). For now, the Internet is still in its initial rapid growth phase. But eventually, the best way to make money on the Internet will be intimately linked with the millions of users out there.AGLOCO (and its predecessor, AllAdvantage) uses its ViewBar software to not only show ads relevant to the content being viewed, but also to the sum total of content a surfer views. I do not know details about the software, but I can see the potential of being able to target customers like that. If you do most of your buying on eBay, the ViewBar will take note and show you relevant eBay offers. And of course, you can always turn the ViewBar off if it really bothers you. But as the company says, it's really not that annoying... More About: Network , Economic , Promise
